Chocolate order arrived broken, I consider the packaging lacking. As it was a present for my son, not impressed. Did communicate my concerns to Chococo but did not receive acknowledgement or reply. Will not use this company again. Such a shame as their products looked very special and unusual.

Sorry to hear this, but we don't appear to have heard about your broken chocolate, so we're not sure how you communicated your concerns to us. We have a very responsive Customer Care team who are on hand to ensure all our customers have a great experience, and we are surprised to read this review. All we can do is apologise for any damage sustained, which we can only presume took place in transit, however we should mention that the slabs which you bought for your son are hand-cut from large trays so it may have looked like the pieces were broken when they weren't.

First time I ordered these chocolates and the feedback from my family is that some of the chocolates tasted poor. We normally order hotel chocolat.

I am really disappointed! My delivery never arrived. I chased Royal Mail and even Chococo and haven’t received anything and I ordered a week and half ago. I brought a few items as gift for my dinner guest but I had to look for alternative option as I didn’t receive anything. Will need to chase Chococo for a refund. Very disappointed.

We're disappointed too. We can see that as soon as you contacted us we were on the case and we dealt with the problem caused by Royal Mail. We were both let down because of that and we're sorry your parcel was lost.

Sorry you found this so irritating. We do pre-warn you about the branded box when we send despatch information so you can get to the front door first if it is a surprise! It's also mentioned in our FAQ's. We took advice from our business mentors, who have vast experience of managing online businesses, who recommended that our boxes should be branded to show pride in our brand and this is in line with many other premium businesses, especially in the food and drink sector, who have branded boxes.

I’m sorry to say we were rather disappointed with the box. Ordered a “posh box” for my daughter’s birthday, expecting 25 different flavours of chocolate. There were only 14 in the variety received of which 4 were coffee flavoured which she isn’t keen on. Won’t be ordering again. Shame. Wanted to support local business.

Sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with the large Autumn Collection. This box has been one of our most popular seasonal collections to date. All the images on our website did show the contents of the box, but that may not have made it clear that there were two of each chocolate. Having read your feedback, we've updated our website to make it clearer that this collection contains two of each and is perfect for sharing.

Unfortunately despite ordering chocolates on a Friday evening for my two friends’ 50th, to be delivered to a hotel where we we staying from Monday to Wednesday, the chocolates weren’t dispatched until late afternoon Monday and arrived after we had all left (1pm) in the Wednesday so I still can’t write a review about the chocolates! I’m waiting for them to be re-delivered to my home address. I was quite disappointed and one of my friends has returned to Sweden.

Disappointing, the dark chocolate overwhelmed most of the centres and the cases were so thick and sharp they hurt to bite through.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and we're sorry to hear that our chocolates weren't to your taste. The Autumn Collection has been one of our most popular ever seasonal selections and we have had excellent feedback about it, with many saying it's one of our best collections yet. The box of Glorious Ginger which you ordered is a classic favourite and an annual bestseller. We put big ginger chunks inside domes of our 72% origin dark chocolate from Ecuador, so it's simply solid chocolate with just the right amount of crystallised ginger. Perhaps you refrigerated your chocolates and ate them straight from the fridge which made the chocolate harder and a firmer snap? We advise that all our chocolate items are stored somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight, heat sources or strong odours. Our selection boxes containing fresh chocolates with a short shelf life of a few weeks are happiest at c14-16 degrees (an old-fashioned pantry would be perfect for them), but if the only cool place in your house is the fridge, they can be stored there (but away from that cheese or any other strong flavours you may have in there!). Just like cheese though, the flavours are best if the chocolates are brought back to room temperature before being eaten.

The quality of your product was excellent but you failed to put the message into the pack and so my daughter in law had no idea who had sent them or why. It ended up with me, embarrassingly, having to call her a few days later to ask her if she had received the chocolates! If this is your quality of service then I would not use your company again! As we advised by email when you contacted our Customer Care team there was no gift message on the order, so we can only think that you forgot to hit the save button. Sorry that you missed this. If you had noticed there was no message on your Order Confirmation, we could always have added one before we despatched your order - we're always here to help if you think something is wrong.

The salted caramel brownie was disgusting, then we found out you used sea salt in the ingredients. It was awful. I would ask for my money back but no point. £20 for it was a rip off. Never buy again

We thought that by calling it our Dorset Sea Salt Caramel Brownie it might indicate some of the key ingredients, the clue is in the name. Sorry you found it disgusting though; if you'd got in touch we could have tried to put things right.

There were missing and incorrect items in my order, the customer service when reporting this was slow and there was no offer to replace the missing items. The delivery was also very slow.

Sorry that it all went a bit pear-shaped! It's very difficult to resolve queries quickly when our phone calls aren't returned and if our emails fall into a spam box. We explained why you had an alternative item sent, explained that we couldn't replace the missing item as it was not in stock, and refunded you for it.

Very insensitive to send request for a review after failing to deliver an order of Easter eggs to my grandchildren. Hopefully a refund will turn up as promised. But doesn’t really mitigate and now you seek praise?

We're really sorry to hear this; we don't want any of our customers to be unhappy but especially not the small ones. We'd never knowingly send out damaged items and have used our plastic-free packaging for a couple of years with only a very small number of issues, which are more to do with how the eggs are handled in transit. We haven't received any direct communication from you about the damage and are disappointed that you didn't let us know about this directly when we might have been able to do something about it. We do hope that the chocolate was still a pleasure to eat despite its less-than-perfect appearance.

We're sorry to hear that your Easter eggs arrived broken. This is really sad and clearly disappointing, and certainly not how we want our lovely chocolate to arrive. Please be assured that we don't want any of our customers to be unhappy, and we'd never knowingly send out damaged items. We have used our plastic-free packaging format now for a couple of years with only a tiny number of issues which are more to do with how the eggs are handled in transit rather than the fault of the packaging. We're surprised that we don't appear to have received any communication from you about these damaged eggs, and we are disappointed that you didn't let us know about this before posting your review. We certainly can't hold our carrier to account if we're not advised about it. We do hope that the chocolate was still a pleasure to eat despite its less-than-perfect appearance.

Oh no, that's very sad to hear. We know that we can't please everyone all of the time, but one star? For chocolate? You forgot to mention that despite you not enjoying the chocolate, we delivered quickly and the chocolates looked beautiful and were well packed. We think that's what you meant to say.

Great product. Poor delivery. If I pay extra to have it delivered within a range of days, I expect it to be delivered within those range of days... because that's what I pay for. Instead I paid for the option to suggest....and then you delivered a food product a week before I needed it. So it wasn't as fresh it could have been. Thanks for that. Great product but the delivery screw up rendered it next to useless.

Oh no, it sounds like you're not at all happy with Chococo. It's such a shame you didn't contact us and allow us to try to sort things out. It looks like we delivered three days earlier than you asked for, so we're sorry for that, and we could have refunded you the delivery charge. We also would have been able to reassure you that our fresh chocolates still had plenty of shelf life on them, and would have lasted for at least another two weeks. We're always here to help if you think there's a problem, we just need to know about it.

The box was TINY!! Check what you are buying as, even for a quality product, they are overpriced and the packaging isn’t luxurious. We bought as a gift but we’re too embarrassed to give them.

Sorry to hear this, but we think that 99.9% of our other reviewers will disagree. Chococo is proud to make ethical handcrafted fine chocolates using Raisetrade chocolate filled with locally sourced ingredients. Our products are palm oil-free, our packaging plastic-free, and we hear time and time again how thrilled people are to receive Chococo as gifts. Size isn't everything, and we've heard that the best things come in small packages.

Very disappointing, most of the selection was quite bland, only a few would I consider eating again. Compares poorly to Hotel Chocolat, which is significantly cheaper. The packaging is awful, had to battle to get most of the chocolates out of their box.
