“Bedside cabinets delivered today. Super quality - really pleased. Good packaging. Would have been 5* if hadn’t had difficultly contacting Customer Services early on. Alls’s well that ends well!”

“Quality for price: good, but not quite as good as expected. Some minor damage on product but not worth sending back. Delivery: couldn't fault it. Quick, on time and nice drivers.”

“I initially wanted my furniture to be from the Cotswolds company however they didn’t have the colour I wanted plus the delivery took too long so I ordered from Chiltern Oak as the furniture is very similar. I ordered a console table and a hutch in Chester Stone. Both came on the day expected however came hours earlier than the scheduled time which was slightly annoying as I had to rush home from work. Both were unpackaged and put up and very pleased with them both. The only niggle I have is that I can tell it’s not as good quality as Cotswold as some bits of wood are more flimsy when opening and closing doors and isn’t as smooth. Overall pleased with the purchases.”

“Item was well packed and delivered undamaged. I’m very pleased with it and it looks great in the lounge. I also liked the fact that it didn’t need to be put together and could go straight into the lounge. Having the pre made hole for wires was a bonus. I would have no hesitation in ordering from Chiltern Oak Furniture again or recommending them to friends or family.”

“I am very pleased with the quality and appearance, but unfortunately when we unpacked the third one, we discovered it was damaged inside the top right hand corner. The attached photographs and also a photograph of the cardboard box indicates what had occurred in transit. I realise that this problem was not yours and I suspect it is your courier, who I presume have dropped a heavy weight on to one of your bookcase packages which I would say were perfectly adequate, if handled properly. Obviously, this is very inconvenient, having to wait to set up the third bookcase and I am not pleased about your 5-12 working days timescale, particularly as this order was placed on 27 April and I was expecting something like a 48-hour turnaround. I am not impressed with the courier who notified me by email that my order would arrive on Friday 6 May, which it did not and then they informed me on the Monday morning that it would be delivered on Monday, which it was. In my view their tracking site is dreadful and there is no way of contacting them directly. I can only assume that this kind of service does not help your business image. Not only did we have to repack this large bookcase, but the replacement's packaging was damaged also. I could put my hand inside the box, between 2 shelves, but fortunately there was no damage this time. A lot of inconvenience and delay. On the packages it stated ‘Made in Vietnam’, but they can’t be guaranteed to make the journey across the UK in a van. Staff were apologetic and helpful, but all of the above means my complaint was not followed through and I would never purchase again.”

“This is a very well finished, nice looking little beside cabinet. It is quite small and the drawers are not as spacious as I would like. I knocked off one star for this. As long as that suits you though, there’s no problem. I bought this as an ‘extra’ for a bit more storage so the small drawers are not a big issue. It blends well with my bedroom furniture which came from another retailer. You can’t really go wrong with this. Someone wrote something about easy assembly. It comes assembled. Not flat pack.”

“Easy ordering experience, delivery on time but alas box was damaged, although the item was really well packed I was really disappointed to find on opening that my oak topped storage bench had a deep chip on side of top, my guess it happened in transit, however contacted Chiltern oak immediately sending photos of damage. They were very apologetic & offered to replace it or give a discount, of which I accepted as I loved the piece. Excellent customer service & a high quality product. Won’t hesitate to shop with them, would have been 5 stars if not damaged.”

We were slightly apprehensive to buy online without having seen them, but the picture and dimensions on the website were good and with a money back refund on offer if there was a problem, we were happy to give Chiltern a try. We are pleased we did as we’ve ended up with a good quality product at a reasonable price.”

“Ordered small cabinet with drawers, TV unit and small coffee table, which arrived on time. All were well packed and unpacked easily . The coffee table needed assembling, which I wasn't expecting but was quite easy to do single handed with the allen key provided. The items are white painted wood, look good and are so much easier to slide around than the heavy dark oak furniture I had before. Good value for money too.”
