Bought dining table and chairs, within two years one chair is now unstable and the back of the chair is wobbly and we cannot sit back against the back. We have not been rough with the chairs or stood on or rocked back on them. Chiltern aren't interested but to be fair we bought them just under two years so any guarantee has gone but for quality furniture it's disappointing.

I brought a Salisbury grey painted oak dressing table with mirror and stool for our guest room. Whilst the unit looks great the single large draw Jams all the time so is unusable. We have to warn guests not to open it.

Slightly disappointed as I ordered white furniture and it's a definite cream.. Also I think the only part that is true oak is the top of the units

I ordered Falmouth low bookcase based on description as being 90cm high. I even emailed customer service to check sizes. I received a box that looked as if it had been opened several times containing a bookcase which was 120cm high. Website still incorrect, I now have to wait over a week for it to be collected.

Really disappointed, very clever wording leads you to believe the furniture is made from oak, however, is actually painted MDF! Ordered before Christmas with a promise of pre-Christmas delivery but actually arrived early January. The January sales price is now £329.49 - £20 cheaper than I paid!!!!

From front it looks good , but the inside and back in not well made. Wood inside the drawer & back of the table is really rough. Not well made

A bit disappointing - crude jointing, one door catch bent and doesn't work properly and one drawer handle came off after a week !

Very disappointed! Poor quality, very little oak, ill fitting doors. Looks good, but looks can be deceiving. Won’t buy online again.

As the item I wanted was quite small (wine cabinet) I thought I might be able to purchase it direct from the store in Irthlingborough. Not possible so arranged delivery which I was told would be about 5-10 working days. I asked if I would receive an e-mail prior to delivery but was told I would receive a phone call. No phone call but item arrived at 07.15 this morning (within the 10 days) very lucky I was in as I was just about to leave for work. Delivery driver said I was lucky to have received it early!! Box badly damaged but luckily contents ok as there was no way I would have been able to re-box item if I'd had to return it. What's the point of leaving your e-mail and phone number if you're not contacted.

Bought 2 bedside cabinets, took 1 week to arrive, one had a cracked front so contacted Chiltern Oak customer services by email as requested and sent images of the damage. I had to call them up 3 days later to chase a response which they then got back to me offering me a discount which I declined. They then organised a swap over where they pick up the damaged unit and give me the new one. That took another 1 week to arrive. When I opened the package, the replacment was more damaged than the first one. Called up their customer services, was given a scripted "you need to contact us by email and send photos" which I did then again I had to chase up a day or so later to be told that they will organise another swap. I was extremely annoyed at their "don't really care" attitude and told them that if they didn't open the package when it arrived from China to make sure it wasn't damaged then I would be sending the damaged one and the undamaged one back and would be asking for a full refund. They said they would only do that if I had kept the packing so this wouldn't be possible, to which I replied that I had kept every single piece of packaging. The phone went silent then she said that she would make sure someone looked at it before it was sent to me. They did send another one, which took another 8 days, but they had opened it to check because the packaging inside was different to how it comes from the factory. So at least they did that. I got no compensation. I ordered on the 6th June and finally recieved all the pieces on the 30th of June. Summary - All the stats info on this site are not correct. It's not possible for them to do next day, so it can't possibly be the average delivery time. I've read so many "damaged items" reviews that it can't possibly be 96%. Queries resolved in "Under an hour" is a completely off the mark, try 1-2 weeks after you start chasing them (read the other reviews below)

Our Wardrobe arrived damaged and we've had to have it in the way in our hallway for two weeks - it's a tripping and fire hazard. I've now paid the £50 to have the new one installed when they finally come to collect it. I know the policy states it can take 5-10 days but if something arrives damaged you should be able to have it collected ASAP. Really disappointed I've had to cough up the £50 to insure this does not happen again when it should have arrived in good condition to start with. I know these things happen but it's just not good customer service. I will be shopping elsewhere in future!

First piece of furniture (Sideboard) was absolutely brilliant. However, we also bought a TV unit which is shoddily made and a black and white contrast to the first unit. We kept the TV unit as I was undergoing chemotherapy and returning would have proved difficult.

Very disappointed in COF's delivery service. I had ordered Bergen Oak triple wardrobe, chest of drawers and 2 side tables, not cheap furniture but I have previously bought furniture from this site and was happy with the quality. I also purchased the white glove delivery service (again not cheap but I was happy to pay). Today I received an e mail to say my furniture would be delivered week beginning 13/07/2022 I couldn't be given a specific date and would only get to know a maximum of 48 hours before delivery. This is no use to me, I work full time for the NHS and can't get a holiday (Monday to Friday) at such short notice, no Saturday / Sunday delivery is available. I asked to have delivery delayed slightly and booked in for for a date I am off, but no guarantee could be given. I had envisaged there might be difficulty getting a specific time slot at short notice so had ordered the furniture with good time to arrange delivery (I would be giving nearly two weeks notice) and find it ridiculous that a specific date can't be arranged. Needless to say as no guaranteed delivery date can be given I've had to cancel the order.

I ordered a small sideboard in Bergen Blue. It arrived well packed and was very nice looking. Close inspection showed some paint scrapes, which can be dealt with by the touch up pen they are sending, but the thing was the doors didn’t hang symmetrically. The gap at the top of the doors was different on both sides. This was because the hinges holding the door on the right had been fixed a few mm higher. Not sure how this made it past factory quality control because it looks obvious. Anyway, I let them know and they offered a replacement (hence additional star for good customer service) but I hate that kind of hassle and likelihood of same thing again so I resolved to rehang the door myself. Good customer service, but If the quality of production is like this, I wouldn’t buy anything else.

The Gloucester Oak TV Unit I ordered arrived with packaging undamaged, but with its back panel hanging off. Don't expect these units to be quality solid oak furniture. It looks fine from a distance but is flimsy, weighing less than 11kg, and shoddily made, mostly from light-weight materials. The internal frame seems to be made from a kind of soft pine, the side and top panels are very thin mdf with a veneer. The rear panel, crudely fastened on with staples, is of the cheapest thin ply, reminiscent of the little wooden boxes citrus fruit comes packed in. On my unit there were several small marks on the top surface, and the legs were uneven, such that it rocks without packing under one leg. The website description that the unit is 'lovingly crafted from solid oak and real oak veneer' is, to say the least, misleading. The one positive is that contrary to the experience of several reviewers the company responded to my complaint very promptly and agreed to my suggestion of a realist discount if I didn't return the unit but repaired it myself. Already the following day I got notification from Paypal of the £40 refund I asked for (the amount the company says it costs to process a returned item). To me that was a fair and reasonable outcome.

Just had a chest of drawers delivered. It weighs 36kg and took two men to carry it to the door. And that's where they left it - outside. Apparently according to the two lawyers moonlighting as delivery drivers, the hallway is a 'room of choice' and that's extra. So they walked off and left me, alone, to somehow get a 36kg box inside without help. Disgusting.

I bought the Ashbourne Grey Painted 2 Door Wardrobe with Drawer. I was disappointed with the quality of the product and the description on their website was also misleading. The website stated that "Requires some assembly", which should actually state that the main wardrobe section comes completely flat-packed and requires full assembly! It took almost two hours to assemble this, mainly due to the poor quality of manufacture. A number of the pre-set fixings were not perfectly lined up. Also, some of the wardrobe sections were slightly warped (particularly the back panel). So it was challenging to get the bolts into the fixings. IKEA is better quality! There were also some small scratches on the paintwork. To be fair to Chiltern Oak Furniture, when I raised this with them they sent out a touch-up pen. But overall, I wouldn't buy again.

Quality is inconsistent. Having ordered a nest of tables, the first delivery went to the wrong address. Having waited an extra week, when they arrived the packaging looked damaged on one corner, and sure enough the largest table was damaged - wonky leg and split wood. Repacked everything and waited another week - the second set was also damaged! This time a manufacturing fault which should never have been sent out - dowels hammered in wrongly and more split wood. After yet another week the third set arrived and thankfully was OK. I did negotiate a reasonable discount with Customer Services as some compensation.

I recieved the oak topped bookcase, well packaged and a quick delivery. Unfortunately the finish is second rate. The stapled back panel was not secured in all areas. In addition, the paint finish is incomplete with gaps where the panels meet down the sides and the bottom panel/shelf is not square leaving a gap.
