“I have sent two emails and tried telephoning but to no avail. Regrettably the console desk handle was broken. I was trying too find out what do but no-one wants to communicate with me. Other than that the table is very nice and for the money good value. Only problem is broken handle but worse no-one is willing to reply to my emails or answer the phone.”

“My lounge furniture was due for delivery on Thursday 18th Nov - unfortunately the coffee table was missing from the delivery and the book case and nest of tables were both damaged. It took mw an hour to get through to someone to speak too and I also emailed but I still have not had a response or call to inform me when the coffee table will be delivered and when the damaged items will be replaced - very disappointed as the TV cabinet is lovely and I just want to have the rest of the matching furniture. A call or email to keep be updated would be appreciated”

“Ordered the Hampshire Blue bedroom furniture. Delivery was prompt and they were freindly, the price was very good and lower than similar style with OakFurnitureLand. Had it for a couple of weeks now and it looks great, really happy with the all around service. Would gladly use Chiltern again and reccomend to my freinds and family. Thanks guys!”

“After a long online search, we found an Oak chest of drawers that would suit us perfectly. When we got the furniture delivered, we both were amused with the Quality and the beauty of it. A modern Banbury Grey, robust and very stylish, we love it. The delivery was on time, very well packed, and the deliveries very friendly. The customer service is superb. They are very professional and definitely, they will make you feel like a special customer.”

“Loving the table. The standard delivery does not include building the table so for anyone that isn't a fan of the IKEA approach to sales, make sure you pay the extra to have the delivery guys put the furniture together for you. Personally, I'm a LEGO and IKEA fan so I was pleased to be given the option to put it together myself and save some money. Great value for money. Now I need some chairs!!”

“Beautiful dining table and chairs. I had been looking at other companies at similar items which were much more expensive and who had delivery times of up to 6 months. Chiltern delivered within 2 weeks. Well worth paying extra for the white glove delivery. The table and chairs were delivered to the room of my choice, unpacked, put together and all packaging taken away. Excellent service snd I will be back to purchase from this company again.”

“We had just moved into a new home and had a cupboard shortage. Our dry goods, cans, herbs, spices and bottles were stacked in a corner. An order for a beautiful looking Hampshire Grey Large Larder (according to the website photos at least) was placed on 13 August and we waited a few weeks for delivery. However when we opened the packaging, which looked like it had already been opened and resealed (not very well), we were both astounded and very disappointed. When you are paying out c. £800 your expectation is high, actually I mean very high. The quality of the finished product was dubious and the amount of individual faults was ridiculous. These weren’t just cosmetic, they were significant issues, which should never have passed quality control and been signed off for shipping. We emailed customer services immediately the same day and we were asked to send photographic evidence which we did. The attitude in their responses was indifferent at best. If you could shrug shoulders by email, it would be like that. We were offered a derisory 15% refund if we wanted to keep it as is, with a missing part being sent by post. We obviously declined. No alternative product was offered. We requested an exchange, and were advised that the product was out of stock and we would have an estimated 10-12 week wait. Meanwhile, the contents of our larder are still awaiting a home. The follow up service keeping us informed has been non-existent, the offer of compensation or similar has again been non-existent. We have now chased them up and got a standard response and so we are still awaiting the replacement with no expected delivery date. If this is what this company stands for, I strongly advise you to shop elsewhere, they don’t deserve your hard earned money.”

“I bought the Salisbury Grey Painted Oak Hall Bench with Wicker Baskets which would be perfect if it wasn't for the baskets, they are made of Seagrass and they absolutely STINK!! Wicker obviously means something different to me, had I known they were Seagrass from the description I probably wouldn't have bought.”

“"Hampshire Ivory Painted Oak Display Cabinet" Nothing much wrong with the furniture except it's cheaply made and flimsy. The company push the "rustic oak" image - the only oak is the top trim - the rest of it is painted MDF and hardboard. The shelves look thick, but that is just the front edge trim - the shelves themselves are made of hardboard and I am sure they won't take any sort of weight. One of the shelves is cracked underneath, and the whole thing feels flimsy. So I suppose the description of "display cabinet" is accurate - it's really only for displaying nick-nacks, not for any serious storage or crockery or books. Still, it looks nice. So in summary it's a triumph of form (and flowery descriptions) over function. "Chiltern Oak Furniture" is neither based in the Chilterns (an office in Peterborough), nor made of oak. Inspired or sharp marketing, take your pick. I didn't enjoy paying nearly £500 for flatpack quality furniture, even if it was ready assembled. I can't see me making any more purchases.”
