“Really pleased with my new sideboard delivery was quick and was kept upto date by delivery men to what time it was coming. Will definitely be using Clitern Oak Furniture again.”

“Ordered hall table on the 7th April, had an email back to say it would be delivered 22nd April between 11am -2pm waited in all day nothing came, no message no phone call. Called them they answered and hung up, tried leaving message couldn't do it no response to emails. Worried now we have been scammed and will demand our money back. Beware !!”

“An item of furniture was collected on April 13th. It is now over 9 days and allowing for the Bank Holiday I am still waiting for a refund. Earlier this week I returned to the store to look at alternative pieces of furniture. What a bonus that the chosen item had a reduction of 10% Item chosen....colour chosen....bill of sale completed only to be told that the 10% reduction was a mistake. I made a bigger mistake by returning to this store!”

“This. Company are awful at customer service ordered 3 pieces of furniture all came damaged Took photos and eventually got a collection date which they phoned on the day to cancel then waited another fortnight to get a text for collection today only to receive another text a few days later to say there not collecting after all and they will send me another date phoned up and to say they were useless and not willing to help wouldn’t use this company again and absolutely would not recommend”

“Questionable Sales Practice Placed the order for chairs and a bench on the basis of ‘in stock’ showing on the website. Paid the money to be told that they checked the warehouse to find that they had none. Told that they would be in stock shortly and did I want to continue with the order. Accepting payment on the promise of a 48 hour delivery when you don’t actually have the stock is very sharp (but clearly effective) sales practice and a lucrative way to fund the company. I wonder how many sales are secured in this way with full payment made weeks before delivery ? Suggest you read the other reviews before placing an order….”

“Brilliant company to purchase from. Keep you updated as to delivery dates which are quite short considering the 3 month wait at some companies. Quality products. I first purchased 2 tall boys and one chest of drawers for my bedroom and because I liked them so much I decided to buy 2 Rutland Blue small sideboards loved these so much I ordered another one ! Unfortunately this one came with 4 tiny weenie chips …small but once you know they are there you can’t stop seeing them…no one else has noticed just me. I didn’t want to send it back so called to see if they had any paint they could send me. The person I spoke to was really helpful and I am now waiting for a touch up pen ! Will definitely recommend and use this company again.”

“Ordered Rutland coffee table with shelf so pleased with it the colour says grey but I would describe it more has putty which is perfect I have actually used it for TV because of where it is I could only have small unit I have looked for ages trying to find right size I saw this and from ordering to delivery 2 days it is so well made and strong I was able to assemble it myself first class service would highly recommend Chiltern oak DPD delivery”

“After searching for hours for appropriate welly storage I Ordered late Wednesday night and arrived friday afternoon! Really fast service and true to colour product. So easy to put the prices together and managed with two young children pestering to play in the box! It’s really transformed the awkward area by the door. Highly recommend!! So glad I found this company!”

“Display cabinet arrived having been dropped. The structure of the cabinet was wrecked. After sending images of the damage the return was eventually arranged. The pick up time was for a week!!! The cabinet has just been collected but I had no IDEA WHEN THIS WOULD HAPPEN. The cabinet looked good in the pictures but was very shoddily built. The strongest part was the reinforced glass!! I will need use Chiltern again, the items are shoddy and the after sales service useless. Cheap in this case is certainly NOT cheerful.”

“Just had delivery of Salisbury Ivory painted wardrobes. They are not Ivory. Anything but. They are cream coloured. If you are expecting ivory then order the white as they may well be closer to ivory, certainly better than this colour. The rest of my bedroom furniture is ivory. Huge difference. I do not have the time to wait and return these wardrobes and then wait for another delivery so will have to have them painted. Huge disappointment.”

“My experience with Chiltern oak has been fantastic from placing the order through to delivery of my furniture. The delivery men John and Mark were brilliant and did an excellent job of making up the furniture and putting it in place in the bedroom. First class service and quality products. “Just received delivery of 3 Hampshire range wardrobes and bedside cabs. Paid £50 to be constructed. Very good quality range for the price, good Customer service on phone, good delivery and quick construction. - what more could we want.”

“The Gloucester Oak TV Unit I ordered arrived with packaging undamaged, but with its back panel hanging off. Don't expect these units to be quality solid oak furniture. It looks fine from a distance but is flimsy, weighing less than 11kg, and shoddily made, mostly from light-weight materials. The internal frame seems to be made from a kind of soft pine, the side and top panels are very thin mdf with a veneer. The rear panel, crudely fastened on with staples, is of the cheapest thin ply, reminiscent of the little wooden boxes citrus fruit comes packed in. On my unit there were several small marks on the top surface, and the legs were uneven, such that it rocks without packing under one leg. The website description that the unit is 'lovingly crafted from solid oak and real oak veneer' is, to say the least, misleading. The one positive is that contrary to the experience of several reviewers the company responded to my complaint very promptly and agreed to my suggestion of a realist discount if I didn't return the unit but repaired it myself. Already the following day I got notification from Paypal of the £40 refund I asked for (the amount the company says it costs to process a returned item). To me that was a fair and reasonable outcome.”

“The website says that delivery will be within 48hrs. So to be kind, as the order was placed on Sunday 12th March, delivery wasn't really expected until Wednesday 16th. I received an email from DPD saying delivery would be on 17th (strange 48hrs) and we would receive a text with an hours time slot. No text, no delivery. Phoned Chiltern Oak Furniture on Friday to find out where the order was and they promised to call back. NO ONE CALLED BACK. Then got an email saying "As requested" the delivery had been changed to the 21st. I HAD NOT REQUESTED THE CHANGE but went with it. This afternoon I had to, again, phone Chiltern Oak Furniture to see when/if we could expect the delivery as we STILL hadn't had a text. This time someone did phone back to say that DPD had lost the order and they had no other of the sideboard we had ordered in stock. NOBODY HAD BOTHERED TO CONTACT US TO SAY THERE WAS A PROBLEM. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Cancelled our order and will NEVER buy from this company and will NEVER recommend it to anyone. Let's hope I don't have to chase for my refund. If I could put less than one star I would.”
