I bought a Banbury wardrobe about a year ago. While the product looks lovely and is well finished, it is not deep enough for wooden coat hangers with clothes on them. The amount of times I have had to manipulate the hangers to try to get the doors to close is now frustrating. My wardrobe is not over-filled either, as I have other wardrobes too so am well spread. 1 or 2cm deeper is all it needs. Be careful what coat hangers are used perhaps, maybe the plastic ones are smaller, however many of us are avoiding purchasing plastic these days, and the plastic ones don't hang clothes as well as the wooden ones do. Otherwise I love the products and would definitely buy Chiltern again, just checking dimensions more carefully.

Ordered a four wicker basket, two drawer unit. Ordering and delivery went well but on unpacking, one of the baskets did not match. I called sales immediately and sent the required email and picture. Automated response saying they should resolve in 72 hours. Still waiting over a week later. I have called several times, to be told they are awaiting a response from the workshop. Last call was thirty minutes ago to yet another assistant who could tell me nothing. This is very poor customer service. I don't want to return the item for such a trivial error on their part as I could end up with an even more unacceptable replacement. Just get your act together and ensure all the departments speak to each other or you will fail on your service to the people that are the life blood of your business, your customers.

The hallway shoe bench is a nice looking piece of furniture for the price. Unfortunately, unless you’re looking to store children’s shoes in it.. you’ll need to look elsewhere for something bigger

Excellent delivery, and they took it upstairs for me when they didn't have to. Quality of the furniture is really good and this is the 2nd time we've bought from them. The drawers are really spacious and much better than something similar we got from oak furniture land which was badly damaged and the drawers ran poorly on the runners. So pleased with the furniture and have recommended to family.

From start to finish the whole process ran smoothly. I was kept well informed at each stage. The item we chose was so well priced compared to like for like with other companies. Delivery was great and on time and the delivery lads were professional and well mannered. We will definitely choose Chiltern oak again for well priced good quality items.

A good range of furniture made from quality materials and reasonably priced. Could do with lubricating runners on the furniture as the wood on wood sometimes sticks.

As the item I wanted was quite small (wine cabinet) I thought I might be able to purchase it direct from the store in Irthlingborough. Not possible so arranged delivery which I was told would be about 5-10 working days. I asked if I would receive an e-mail prior to delivery but was told I would receive a phone call. No phone call but item arrived at 07.15 this morning (within the 10 days) very lucky I was in as I was just about to leave for work. Delivery driver said I was lucky to have received it early!! Box badly damaged but luckily contents ok as there was no way I would have been able to re-box item if I'd had to return it. What's the point of leaving your e-mail and phone number if you're not contacted.

Bought 2 bedside cabinets, took 1 week to arrive, one had a cracked front so contacted Chiltern Oak customer services by email as requested and sent images of the damage. I had to call them up 3 days later to chase a response which they then got back to me offering me a discount which I declined. They then organised a swap over where they pick up the damaged unit and give me the new one. That took another 1 week to arrive. When I opened the package, the replacment was more damaged than the first one. Called up their customer services, was given a scripted "you need to contact us by email and send photos" which I did then again I had to chase up a day or so later to be told that they will organise another swap. I was extremely annoyed at their "don't really care" attitude and told them that if they didn't open the package when it arrived from China to make sure it wasn't damaged then I would be sending the damaged one and the undamaged one back and would be asking for a full refund. They said they would only do that if I had kept the packing so this wouldn't be possible, to which I replied that I had kept every single piece of packaging. The phone went silent then she said that she would make sure someone looked at it before it was sent to me. They did send another one, which took another 8 days, but they had opened it to check because the packaging inside was different to how it comes from the factory. So at least they did that. I got no compensation. I ordered on the 6th June and finally recieved all the pieces on the 30th of June. Summary - All the stats info on this site are not correct. It's not possible for them to do next day, so it can't possibly be the average delivery time. I've read so many "damaged items" reviews that it can't possibly be 96%. Queries resolved in "Under an hour" is a completely off the mark, try 1-2 weeks after you start chasing them (read the other reviews below)

Cheap uneven sided and feels like plastic rather than wood. Shelves are out of line too. Absolute rubbish.

My first order went missing. I had to chase it up. When it came one of the table legs was snapped, having to wait, again, for a replacement. Very disappointed!!! 😡

The nest of tables I ordered arrived with the largest one damaged beyond belief. The wood on the table top was broken and one leg was not attached. I contacted Chiltern about the damage and was told to send photos, which I did. No word of apology, or offer to send a replacement. The tables were eventually collected 15 DAYS LATER, and the refund arrived another 6 days after that. Not impressed.
