because i live in the republic of Ireland I had to pay in excess of 25 per cent extra vat without getting any credit for the UK vat----- this is penal so I wont be buying from UK anymore.

Hello Pauline. When a customer places an order from an address which is outside of the UK, UK VAT is automatically deducted during the checkout process. I have checked and this was correctly applied to your order, you can see on your order confirmation that no UK VAT was added to your purchase. Delivery good. Alegria Verona sandal. Really wanted to like and keep. Replaceable insole seems like good idea however in the pair I received the leather of the shoe would not remain covered by the insole leaving hard leather edges to irritate foot. Maybe I was just unlucky. Added to this I had to pay for return and post office advised because of value had to go special delivery and this was over £9.

Hi Angela. Sorry to hear that the sandals weren't right for you. There is an edge round the deep insoles in all Alegria sandal styles. We do offer free UK delivery for all our orders and I see that you opted for this. Most companies charge for either delivery or returns (sometimes both). Most of our customers choose Royal Mail second class small parcel or an online tracked postage such are Royal Mail tracked 48, which would have been £3.39 for the sandals you sent back - they even come to your door to collect and bring a postage label with them. Disappointed that CheerfulSoles use Evri to deliver their goods, I have had bad experiences of Evri and so had to pay extra for Royal Mail delivery.

I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced problems with EVRI. We have a great relationship with our local couriers who call everyday, as do most of our customers. I trusted your foot size chart for US and UK and ordered my shoes. Your chart says US 8 1/2 size is UK size 8. When I placed an order of UK size 8 and I received US 9 size. Which is wrong information on your website. Please fix it.

Hi Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. This confusion has happed due to the fact that Joya don't size their footwear like other shoe brands. They increase in thirds, using a Joya EU size chart. I can assure you that the accurate conversion of a US 8.5 is UK 8. However the Joya size conversion of a US 9 is 42 1/3, which they state is a UK 8. It's pretty confusing and that's why we only sell in UK whole and half sizes. Great service always. I bought replacement inner soles for Joya shoes this time and although they are genuine Joya, the inner soles are thin and lack support and shape. I've always been delighted with shoes from Cheerful soles. I didn't report it to the company..

Disappointed that returns were not free this year. Bought shoes last year and returns were free. There was nothing to inform this had changed. Had I been aware I would not have ordered shoes.

Very nice sandals but (there's always a 'but') the colour is very sparkly and shiny; I may have ordered a size that's too big. I'm very sorry that I'll have to return them.

I like the shoes, but unfortunately they are being returned. I didn’t find the IDZoom shoe comfortable with its rocker sole, and Laura wasn’t wide enough. Also they do not follow the criteria set by my foot consultant for a stiff soled shoe.

I’ve got degenerative discs, sacroiliac joint dis-function and more recently herniated discs in thoracic region and neck - my back is totally shot. Although these are comfortable as soon as I start moving I’ve been getting numbness in my right foot - I suffer mainly with the right side of my body. I’ve worn these shoes and as I say they feel comfortable but I just can’t seem to get use of them when I walk further than a few metres. I’ve used other specialists shoes but this is the only time I’ve experienced this. I’m hoping it will improve or they will be added to my charity bag!

First time worn the shoes chaffed the skin off the top of the 4th toe on my right foot. It's where the leathers are joined in the upper just below the laces.

The edge of the left insole gave me a blister that was painful for a couple of days- such that I had to wear other shoes.

The CheerfulSoles staff were very helpful. However, the delivery agent, My Hermes, took my shoes to the wrong address. This was a real pain.

I know when I ordered the shoes that the delivery was 7 working days but I waited longer. Unfortunately other companies can offer a much quicker service. For example I ordered from one company on Saturday and received the goods on Monday.
