“Proud owners of a Ducky Donut bed since 2022, just purchased a new set of covers along with the waterproof liners, and a cheeky new foxy blanket. Absolutely love our glow up! Highly recommend getting the waterproof liners for the ducky, as well as protection they help to keep the cushions plumper and stop so many feathers escaping from the side cushions. Beautiful bed to look at, the dogs all love to snuggle in it and it’s hardwearing and easy to clean the removable covers. Worth the investment.”

“Great products, fairly priced, securely packed and despatched and safely received (in this case in the USA). Handwritten note in the package was a very nice touch. My daughter referred me to Charley Chau and Im glad she did - my dog loves her new blanket.”

“These snuggle beds are fabulous and our short-haired fur babies adore them. We have thick covers for the winter and thiner covers for the summer. They wash superbly and still look plush afterwards. Worth every penny. Happy puppies!”

“The product is great, but - but it is a big BUT: the delivery process is truely terrible. 08.04.2024 order placed from Charley Chau 09.04.2024 notice of delay in delivery from Charley Chau 20.05.2024 notice of sent for shipment to Austria 23.05.2024 notice from Fedex on pick-up with tracking no. 274874047113 28.05.2024 pre-notice from Fedex on delivery tracking no. 274874047113 28.05.2024 notification from Fedex on delivery tracking no. 274874047113 19.06.2024 receipt of invoice by Fedex dated 04.06.2024 for EUR 57.66 (instead of EUR 60.32) of customs duties 09.07.2024 receipt of ungentle reminder by Fedex dated 23.06.2024 claiming that EUR 60.32 are still unpaid and execution to be forthcoming if not paid within 7(!) days, i.e. 9 days ago I strongly advise - even urge Charley Chau to install a delivery point for Continental Europe in order to circumvent the dubious and costly practices of it shipping company. What I have experienced above is simply not acceptable. I cannot recommend Charley Chau any longer to friends from the whippet community here (Austria, Switzerland, Southern German) until the company has changed its distribution practices and changed the shipping company. I have more on paper to proof my points ref. FedEx. My whole experience after 3 months after ordering have been truely traumatic!!!”

Dear Wolfgang, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and I'm glad that you're happy with the bed itself . And I am very sorry that you are so unhappy with the process. As I explained when we received your order, our stock of Burrow Bags/Snuggle Beds was very limited and we were experiencing delays with stock due to the ongoing situation in the Red Sea which was impacting fabric supplies and therefore disrupting our production schedules. Unfortunately, this meant most of our beds were sold out until the next delivery from our sewing team. We were able to dispatch your order as soon as the new stock arrived, which was unfortunately 6 weeks after you placed the order. This is not a situation we were happy with but it was completely out of our control as we were unable to have any beds made until the fabric had arrived. The disruption in the Red Sea continues but we have now turned a corner and any delays are minor. In terms of the delivery itself, as the UK is now no longer a member of the EU, any purchase from us over the value of €130 is subject to local VAT charges and import duties. The charges are a legal requirement by the EU and outside of Charley Chau's control. These must be paid promptly to avoid any delay with the delivery or risk an item being returned. I'm not sure if you are aware already but customers accessing the Charley Chau website outside of the UK are shown prices where the VAT has been removed so all international orders are tax-free. There is more information on our International Shipping page - https://www.charleychau.com/pages/international-shipping. I am very sorry that your order took so long to arrive but this is definitely not the norm for orders going to countries in the EU and beyond.
