“I ordered a Barbour jacket online and, when I telephoned the shop to get advice on sizing and had the pleasure of speaking to Mr. Hobson himself, I experienced the kind of old-school customer service that’s sadly lacking in many establishments these days. Mr Hobson was courteous, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to ensure my satisfaction and I can honestly say he’s won a customer for life in me!”

“I purchased a Sapper Barbour Jacket from Charles Hobson at a price no one else can match. This is a win win for a quality product at such a great price. The icing on the cake with Charles Hobson was their aftercare service. Through no fault of the company i had to return the jacket due to a manufacturing issue, this after a considerable time after the 30 days. Charles Hobson engaged with me extremely quickly and did everything with their power to rectify this issue. They paid for the collection of the item and replaced this with a perfect replacement immediately. This Kind of customer service is excellent and I would recommend this company for both the quality of their goods but more importantly their excellent customer service.”

“I purchased a new Barbour wax jacket from CH and the online sales service was prompt and very competitively priced. The only negative is related to the manufacturer - I ordered a size larger than I would usually purchase [as instructed on CH’s web site]. I’m not an especially large man but the fitting, especially over the chest & shoulders, is very neat to the point where movement is partially restricted – hopefully the jacket will break in eventually. However, the manufacturer needs to review its size protocols as the actual size of the “XXL” jacket is more like “L” to “XL” for most other manufacturers.”

Barbour jackets in particular don't tend to follow one strict size guide and all vary to differing degrees, which of course makes it incredibly difficult to know what to recommend sometimes. “I ordered a Barbour Ashby, it arrived the very next day. Unfortunately it was to big, after a brief phone call I was advised to order the smaller size. This too arrived the very next day. I returned the first jacket for a full refund which was refunded 3 days later. Allowing for postal timings, I find this extremely quick service and very professional. I would recommend this company to any body.”

“Sorry to have to write this. Coat was very good price, Delivery was great, on time the next day, well packaged with return labels. Coat was good quality and fitted well. However the lining had several what looked like short straight dog hairs which wouldn’t brush off and had to be picked off, we don’t have a dog, I’m sorry for this revue but you did ask.”
