Lovely shoes but a sizing issue with my order

My trainers arrived quite quickly but I was very disappointed to find that they had been worn and had obviously been returned. There was no packing in them, the laces were undone and the labels on the bottom dirty. I did think about returning them but would have had to pay to do that so I reluctantly kept them. I will not be ordering anything from them again. I gave 3 stars because of the reasonably quick delivery by Royal Mail.

The shoes were delivered quickly, but I had to send them back. This was due to excessive wear to the right shoe, which had obviously been tried on many times and was a different colour.

I was pleased with the choice of products but unfortunately the cost of returning my boots was high and there is not a store near my home. So I feel it has cost me £7.00 just to try one boot on and return. It was not clear when I ordered that I would need to pay for the return. So because of this I would not recommend to others.

My order arrived & on time. I have a quality problem with my blue check slippers. The lining is very cheap & well below the quality of the same but different colour slippers that arrived together. Bad standards 😒

So I've ordered two pairs of boots and both are great and I need to decide which to keep- fantastic quality. My gripe is I have to pay for delivery and pay for the return !! So that's over £10 in postage!!! Had I known this I would have looked into ordering through my local store. Come in Mr Clinkard its not on and you're being greedy !

We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with delivery and returns with Charles Clinkard We do offer free standard delivery on orders over £40.00, any premium services like Next Day do carry an additional charge should the customer opt for these Returns are also payable by the customer and you can return via any service convenient to you however many people do opt for the Post Office. Additionally with our 365 day returns policy gives our customers flexibility and items can also be taken into a Charles Clinkard store as long as you have proof of purchase. The items do need to be unworn and in the original box if possible. The service I received in terms of turnaround time and updates was good. Unfortunately, buying shoes online isn't great because you need to try them to check they fit & are comfortable. Whilst I am a definite size 35, the size 35 shoes I bought were much too small. It cost me £8.95 to return them for an exchange but sadly there was no stock available to exchange for a bigger size. So I feel that I have wasted £8.95 & ended up with no shoes. A costly & unproductive encounter.

We offer a free standard UK delivery on a spend of £40.00 and over,however, we do ask the customer to pay the returns cost. Ordered size 5.5 ,that is what it said on the invoice ,but the shoes were 3.5 so no good .However the person I spoke to at customer services wasd excellent and very helpful

In the past I have always been able to purchase shoes and boots size 3 narrow fit. But in the last few years all I have ordered are far to big for me, rarely do the shoes and boots come on sizes 2.5 sadly though both of my recently ordered boot are lovely they're far to big I think that my days of being able to buy my foowear from CC is ending.

Service was very good however I ordered two sizes of same shoe and had to pay for return of pair not required. Over the last couple off years I have ordered on line from many companies and have been entitled to free returns even if ordering two sizes of a particular item. Hence the three stars.

There is a link on our webiste to Collect + where for £4.49 you can return up to 10 kilo or you may return by any postal service that you wish. My choice of style was great as was the speedy delivery and communication but sadly I paid 20% more than I should as the shoes came with a further reduction sticker still in place which would have made them a far better deal. Note to self - shop around more

Thank you for your review. Our delivery is free within the UK, but we do ask customers to cover the cost of returns. There is a link on our website with Collect + where you can buy a label for £4.49 and this will cover up to 10 kilo in returns. You can also take to any Charles Clinkard store and they will issue a refund or arrange an exchange for you. We do allow up to a year for this, so long as the shoe is unworn. I was sent the wrong size of shoe. I made a round trip of 20 miles to return the shoes rather than incur a postal charge. I have now reordered the item in store and await the arrival of the correct size The staff in my nearest store were very pleasant and helpful.

When I went into the shop in York I knew which shoes I wanted I asked for my size and was told that it was only available in a blue I wanted black but was told it could be sent to me post free so I agreed I needed to wait as the sales assistant was serving another customer while she was ring up the other sale a different assistant appeared I explained about the shoes being in wrong colour and I would pay for them and they would be posted to me this is where I think things got mixed up with the other customer I was sent the wrong shoes

Happy with the shoes, but unhappy with the delivery process. I paid for next day delivery. Instead you tried to deliver a day later when I was out so I eventually got them on Tuesday having ordered and paid for the shoes and next day delivery on Saturday.

Hello Thankyou for your review Next day delivery is a guaranteed next working day service for orders placed before 5pm. Orders placed after 5pm will be processed as soon as possible, but may be dispatched the next working day. Any orders placed at the weekend will not be dispatched until the Monday for Tuesday delivery. Next day delivery is charged at £5.99 and is available on items that we have in our central warehouse. This is because some items have to be sourced from our stores and will take a little longer to process. If next day delivery is available, you will be able to select the service at the checkout. We have checked your order and this was placed on the Saturday, the delivery for this would be Tuesday at the latest An attempt was made on the Monday however there as no one available so DPD reattempted and posted the item on the Tuesday.
