Shoes were uncomfortable and looked cheap with plastic straps...when paying over £100 I would have expected leather.

Excellent service only negative is the shoes I ordered described as Reiker extra wide were ,in my opinion, at best wide fit. That is not a critisim of Clinkard but perhaps Reiker.

I visited Charles Clinkard at Chichester. Staff were extremely helpful. However the fact that there was only one till meant that anyone with a return and a purchase took some time as the machine was very slow. I am sure that a shop this size and being busy should have two tills to avoid queues forming. Sylvia and Daniel were very helpful.

The boots I ordered were delivered in good time but when I tried them on they were too small. There was no larger size available. This meant I had to pay for delivery twice - a costly experience and no nice boots to wear!!!

Concerning delivery, there is a free standard delivery service, however, your order choice was for an express delivery chosen for £3.99. Quick and efficient delivery, easy ordering. But I was disappointed to have to pay for returns. My mum is 89 she walks a mile or so everyday so needs good shoes. She cannot really get to the shops.

About returns, we do deliver free of charge and if an exchange is needed we cover the postage to you again, however, we do ask customers to return to one of our Charles Clinkard stores or to post back at their own cost. The shop is always chaotic never enough staff to serve, I avoid sale time as it turns to a jumble sale, I needed sandals for an event I was attending , couldn’t get any help so left, bought from another shop, got home they were £30 cheaper on line your shoes are great quality but I will be buying on line

Love the selection available and quality from Clinkards - unfortunately where they let themselves down is in not providing free returns this means if the item is available elsewhere with free returns policy I would shop there

Only giving 3 stars as I ordered on a Friday afternoon and received my lovely trainers on the following Tuesday. That was express delivery which was £4.99. Not what I call express!

With express delivery we can guarantee a dispatch window of 2-3 working days*. Express delivery is charged at £3.99 and is available on all products and please note that because our couriers do not operate on weekends and Bank Holidays, we do not include them as working days for the purposes of our above dispatch promise. If you order on a weekend, we will class the Monday as the first working day. Paid for the next day service that didn’t happen. The boots I ordered were unsuitable unfortunately but then had to pay to return then. Won’t shop again on line, too expensive to pay postage and returns

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Next day delivery is a guaranteed next working day service for orders placed before 5pm. Your order was placed at 11.08pm on the 10th February 2022. Orders placed after 5pm are processed as soon as possible, but may be dispatched the next working day. Your order was despatched on 11th February 2022 and was delivered on the 12th February 2022. So we have have fulfilled our terms for next day delivery. My granddaughter was horrified to learn that I pay postage. She buys everything on line and never pays delivery or postage on anything. Will have to look to doing the same in future.

The boots were not for me. The description implied they had leather insoles and they didn't, so I am returning.

The shoes were delivered promptly however they were a bit too small and not available 1/2 size larger. I was somewhat surprised at the cost of £8.95 postage to return them.

Thank you for your email. We are sorry to hear that you paid this much to return your order. There is a link to Collect + on our website that covers returns up to 10 kilo for £4.49. Alternatively you can return to a Charles Cinkard store if you have one near to you. With regard to postage costs if you choose Royal Mail or a courier, there are several options available. We allow up to one full year for returns, so an overnight service is not needed. We find that a shoe of this size is usually £2.85 using a second class service and with extra tracking is only 80p more. I hope that this helps for future reference. Delivery was quick however one boot wasn’t in great condition and had perhaps been on the shop floor. Not great that have to pay own postage to return

We do have a Charles Clinkard store not too far from you where you can take them and they will arrange your refund, or just pop them in the post and we will contact you once they reach us to confirm the refund from our returns department. Order arrived promptly, & I was happy with one of my purchases, but I was surprised & disappointed to discover that I had to cover the cost of returning the other one of the 2 pairs of boots I had ordered. The cost of the recommended tracked postage was over £8. For this reason I will not order online from Charles Clinkard again. Shoes are one of the most likely items to be returned due to the importance of a good fit! Outdated returns policy compared to others.

I was able to find what I wanted and the delivery was fine. I am disappointed that my local shop has closed as previously I was able to have the shoes delivered to the shop and try them on there and get an immediate refund if not suitable. The return service is not as good as some companies e.g Marshall Shoes.
