Prompt service but collected from store and the box was very bashed. Am returning as the Gabor boots are too short in the leg. Described as knee length but way below. Customer service were quick to respond and apologise for the bashed box . I didn’t want to be held liable for bashed box when returning the boots.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the box was damaged when you received your order. The box is there ot protect the item inside so it sounds as though it has done its job. We will rebox once they come back to us and would not ask a customer to be responsible for the condition of a box upon the return. Website is easy to shop on, prices reasonable and item arrived quickly. However I probably won't use them again (unless I've been able to try the item on previously elsewhere) as unlike so many other retailers, they don't offer free returns so I had to pay £5 to return the shoes I'd bought as they didn't fit. Sadly can't afford to do that more than once.

Thank you for your review. We do deliver free of charge, but do ask our customers to cover the cost of returns or take back to a Charles Clinkard store. There is also a link on our website to Collect + which allows you to send up to 10 kilo in one package for just £4.49. This would allow you to send several pair back at one low cost. Good range and prices, but customer service not up to scratch. Didn't have my size so had to pay for the shoes to be sent from the manufacturer. They had my size in another shop but wouldn't transfer them. Very small sales counter in Stratford, so can be cosy!

Thank you for your review. Within the store, they can order the shoes for you to be posted to your home address. If when you receive them, they do not fit, then you can return them to store. This would mean a payment before they place the order, but a full refund would be given should you need to return them. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

Well priced shoes and nice customer service, however my shoes did not turn up and ended up being returned to the company without my knowledge by the delivery company.

I’m still waiting so not very happy so far! I had to phone Burford in the end as so long and funnily enough my order was there!!? So no one called me and no apology was offeredd. I did make a special journey to collect as well so not convenient or cost effective. These boots as birthday treat/present so imagine how very happy I wasn’t when it was too late to use 10% off code. You have really messed up this time and on a special event. Not impressed.

The boots are very narrow and a small fit for a size 5, so will be returning them. The box they arrived in was battered to bits and the tissue paper that's supposed to keep the shoes protected was completely shredded - not impressed!

We do hope that the shoes were in an excellent condition and this did not spoil the wearing of them for you. The box is there to protect the shoe, however the shoes could be reboxed if the box was damaged before dispatch, I am sorry that on this occasion it was not and you received the box in a bad condition. The shoes arrived, although too big, that is not the fault of Charles Clinkard. But a week to ship with a courier mix up taking it to 10 days is not in keeping with customer expectations today. Use if really needed but not recommended for online ordering.

Usually all orders are shipped in a maximum (mostly sooner) of 5 working days and then sent out with an overnight service so they arrive with a customer within 6 working days at the latest. Staff helpful and friendly. Ordered a larger size shoe to be delivered to my home via Charles Clinkard shop at Cribbs Causeway and they were promptly delivered but the soles clearly showed that they had been worn previously. I informed the shop who said they would change them but they would have to order my size and colour again. I needed these shoes for an upcoming wedding so hv not returned them yet. A bit disappointing to say the least

I wanted a size 5 trainer for my grandson (aged 11) and ordered from a page which was for boys and teenagers. What was delivered is a pair size 5 / baby replica for a 1-3 year old. Can’t be bothered to return them at my expense and concern myself with debates about who was responsible. Other that that unfortunate accident no problems whatever.

Thank you for your review. The shoes you ordered a called boys first shoes and meant for a toddler. If you would like to send them back, we would happily refund in full for you. If you order a junior shoe from the size range, this would be the correct size for your grandson, the junior lets yu know that it is not a younger cchilds shoe. From email to say my order was on it’s way, it took a further 6 days for it to arrive at the store….. too long. I rang store twice within that time and can’t fault the staff there. Would think twice about using ordering service again

Thank you for your review. Your order was dispatched on Tuesday 9th August and would have been in the store on Thursday the 11th of August. If there was a delay, we sincerely apologise, we have a van that goes to Newcastle 3 times a week to deliver so do not know what the hold up might have been. This is not the normal time scale and once your dispatch email is sent, the store should contact you within two days to let you know that your order has arrived. I ordered a pair of Bugatti shoes. They sent the old model not the new model shown on their site, that I ordered. It arrived with a hand written model number on the side!!

I did not want to pay for fast delivery but I was charged for it. I placed my order on Friday 5th August. The shoes arrived on Monday 8th August. I am sure you will agree this was not fast delivery.

Thank you for your review. You can opt for free standard delivery which is a dispatch within 5 working days maximum, express which is within 3 working days and is £3.99 or overnight delivery which is £5.99. Your order express delivery chosen as the option. All options state this is for working days, you placed the order on a Friday and had delivery on Monday. I recently purchased a pair of shoes online, I am not new to Charles Clinkard either purchasing online or in-store and have always found the service exceptional. Unfortunately this time their service fell short, the shoes arrived undone which straight away told me these had been worn. On closer inspection, they were marked both on the inner lining and the sole. When tried on the back was baggy and would have required additional holes to ensure a good fit. Unfortunately, the pair that was received in their place are marked too, so will need to be returned.

Sometimes we may have a return where people have ordered two sizes for fit and they may be re-sold when they come back as they are still new. Recently bought a pair of espadrilles of you I’m a size 6 unfortunately they were very narrow so I needed a 61/2 I noticed you don’t do half sizes so I had to return very disappointed
