We thoroughly enjoyed our recent holiday in Canada, it really was a holiday of a lifetime. The hotels and tours were excellent. The only downside was when the rocky mountaineer broke down on day one but we have since received compensation for this. The rest of the holiday was excellent. Thank you.

As always a great holiday and a great service from Barrhead Travel. Highly recommended. We had a great time again in Canada and saw all the wildlife we wanted to see. Would deifinitely plan to spend more time at Knight Inlet Lodge next time, an amazing place.

Our first trip to Canada started in Toronto and Muskoka before flying to Calgary and by car on to Banff and Jasper where we joined the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver, and then Vancouver Island. We hugely valued the efficient organisation by Laura Thomson who was an excellent advisor on the itinerary and the activities we would be likely to enjoy. In all,we stayed in 6 different hotels, and had connections by air, train, car bus and float plane. All went smoothly and added to our love of the Rockies, and indeed the Canadian hospitality we experienced. Thanks to Barrhead and Laura.First class!

The planning and organising of the trip by Adla Toal at Barrhead Travel made our holiday to Canada go smoothly with no hiccups. The travel plans on planes, trains, ships and coaches went with precision, which made our holiday the best we have ever had

We had a brilliant trip organised for us by Adla,. The organisation was superb - everything worked really smoothly, and the detailed itinerary we were given meant that the whole experience was hassle-free. I cannot praise Adla highly enough, and have recommended Barrhead travel to a friend who is hoping to do the same trip we did - Alaska Cruise, Vancouver and the Rocky Mountaineer. We have been asked many times what the highlight was - it is impossible to give an answer, because every day was a highlight. I will certainly use Barrhead Travel again.

We had a wonderful trip, taking an Alaska cruise followed by a stay in Vancouver and the Rocky Mountaineer experience. I had been a bit apprehensive because we usually do escorted tours, but the information we were given and itinerary that had been worked out for us meant that it all worked beautifully. I was the holiday of a lifetime, and I am so grateful to Adla for her expertise and advice. I have recommended Barrhead Travel to a friend, who is planning to do the same trip. I will certainly be using Barrhead Travel again.

Had a great cruise along the Alaskan coastline followed by 4 nights in Vancouver. We even had a very close encounter with a black bear feeding on a profusion of salmon in a fast flowing river in Ketchikan. Extremely impressed with all the timely and quite complex transfers between airport to hotel, hotel to cruise ship, cruise ship to hotel and hotel to airport. Went like clockwork. Communications and instructions from booking to final ticketing etc was just as well managed also. In fact the only negative we can think of was the fairly poor food served up by Air Transat. On the upside however, we were given a free upgrade on the return journey which more than compensated for this.

Just returned from the holiday of a lifetime. Our agreed itinerary was delivered with military precision and extremely polite and efficient customer service. Canada was beautiful, and the holiday was the best we've ever had. The behind the scenes arrangements and efforts to make sure the extremely high standard remained for our 18 day stay were exemplary. From the moment we stepped off the plane, everything went like clockwork, the car hire, the hotel reservations, the Rocky Mountaineer and the week long cruise - everything appeared seamless, and we were treated with dignity, respect, and made to feel very special indeed. This was undoubtedly due to the administration and arrangements by the chosen holiday company, and also to the high standards of the staff working in the hotels and facilities chosen. There was no room for complaint of any sorts, and the sunny blue skies blessed us around every corner to cap off a truly enjoyable experience. Michelle Holt in particular deserves a special mention as her personalised quote and help along the way were priceless, and helped us to get the most out of our stay.

Just wanted to relay our sincere thanks to Michelle for sorting our holiday. We have all had a wonderful time, amazing scenery, food , and service. It was 5 star service all the way. Everything was sorted with military precision and worked perfectly. Weather was great for us and when we needed it to be. It was dry and clear when we were on the train and cruising to the glacier, we were very lucky. So glad you talked us into the gold leaf train- we felt like royalty !! The train staff were exceptional. All our hotels were fantastic for their standards and location. It was meant to be the holiday of a lifetime and thanks to your help and organisation it truely was. It was an amazing trip. It was my brother and sister-in-laws first trip to Canada, and they loved it, I think They too will be sending you their own feedback to say thanks. We really appreciate your great service and have already recommended you to people we know. Thanks again, we wil be in touch when we book our next trip to Canada to do the things we didn't get to do

Craig you arranged everything for us magnificently, from hotels, taxi vouchers and more importantly the itinerary for the holiday. There was nothing to fault, which left us just to enjoy. Rocky Mountaineer fantastic, gold class was really worth the extra, felt like celebs. Cruise fantastic as well, only problem it rained on day of Whale watching and was cancelled but that,s out of anyone,s control. Vancouver hotel great position and Las Vegas was brilliant as well. Thank you very much for everything and would definitely recommend Barrhead Travel to anyone.

Our Canadian trip was spectacular. All the travel arrangements worked perfectly, transfers, hotels and car hire. The voucher system was very easy and all the service we received was excellent, extremely friendly and efficient. We loved Vancouver and the Rockies, driving was easy and the scenery magnificent. Craig's travel advice was spot on. We stayed one night in a luxurious log cabin in Clearwater but after a long car drive it was a bit too far from the main road. Thanks for recommending the Icefields, it was unforgettable. The Fairmont hotel in Banff is a luxury everyone should have at least once in their lives! I would recommend Barrhead to anyone visiting Canada.

The trip adla organised for us was very good; apart from the deer lodge in lake louise, the hotels were all excellent although they we would have preferred to be nearer to the town centres ( a 15 minute walk, which is too far for my husband, so we ended up eating in the hotels every night). In any future trips i will check out the locations before booking, although it is hard to tell from a map how close restaurants etc are. The deer lodge hotel was very poor, as i have explained to adla - under-staffed, over-booked, run-down decor, with many complaining customers. I suggest you drop it from your list of hotels. The travel arrangements all worked well. The rocky mountaineer in particular is very well organised, although sitting in the same compartment for 12 hours on two consecutive days is uncomfortable. We would have welcomed getting off for half an hour to stretch our legs, as happened on the other two train journeys. Overall the holiday was excellent and i would recommend barrhead to other people thinking of going to canada.

We were given incorrect info by Barrhead Travel on three counts. Firstly, concerning our checked baggage, which Hannah of Barrhead Travel advised was not included in the cost of our flight, and should be booked and paid for at check-in at Glasgow Airport. (Hannah had apparently received this information from WestJet). As this sounded highly unlikely to us, we contacted WestJet direct who confirmed that our baggage was in fact included in the cost of flight. Secondly, Hannah advised us we need not complete an ETA, as this would not come into force until September 2016. Again, having checked with WestJet, we were informed ETA had come into force in March 2016 and that it would be in our best interest to complete it. (Both of these issues were only highlighted after receipt of tickets, only two weeks prior to departure). Thirdly, we booked our INCLUSIVE rate vehicle rental through Barrhead Travel (with Avis). At pick-up in Canada, we were asked to provide credit card details - we assumed this was a formality, but have returned from holiday to a credit card charge of £245 (apparently for "non-PKG items - energy and concession recovery fees"). We have no idea what this refers to, as we paid for an inclusive rate.

Thank you to Natalie Stewart for organizing our flight, transport and accommodation in Canada. We rarely travel abroad and it was our first long-haul flight. Everything went smoothly at the air-ports, during the flights and with transport. We arranged our own one-day car-hire through Enterprise to visit the village where my great grand-parents had lived, and would recommend them for their professional friendly service. We had excellent very friendly service at Delta Downtown Hotel in Calgary and loved the Caribou Lodge in Banff for its cosy atmosphere. We were thoroughly spoilt by the excellent service on the Rocky Mountaineer Train and amazed by the contrasts of scenery. We experienced strange weather (a chinook) in Kamloops where we broke our journey on the train. Our hotel (Rosedale on Robson) in Vancouver was large and very busy, in downtown, Yaletown, convenient for cafes etc. We found Vancouver was a city of many contrasts and would have preferred to stay on the outskirts. I would suggest that people travelling to Vancouver (or elsewhere)are given a choice of locations e.g. downtown or outskirts. Ideally we'd have liked another day in Calgary and possibly a day in Kamloops as it was too wet and stormy to explore the town on our arrival that evening. Overall it was an amazing holiday which we'll never forget!
