Bad organization. Food unacceptable. Kids starving. Price outrageous. Accomodation not in line with their promises. Unexoerienced coaches. EXPERIENCE NOT TO BE REPEATED WITH THIS ORGANIZATION. No one available for answering. No responsible. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

It was honestly the most amazing trip I've been on! It was so rewarding being able to do service work in Tanzania and our hosts were really lovely and hospitable people :)

Way overpriced. For the same cost we took a full family (3) cruise on a 5 star cruise for one week in Europe, including awesome food round the clock and great accommodation. With camps not only is it way overpriced but the kids still had to pay for just about everything, so add 50% to the already expensive trip to cater for equipment, sleeping bags, accessories, vaccines, etc etc etc. Food was barely edible.

My daughter had a fantastic time in Kenya! She learned some new skills like deworming goats. She got to meet local school children and read to them and she met the fantastic Masai tribe. She also came back with souvenirs and singing Kenyan songs. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would recommend it for every student!

It was very well organised . I enjoyed every bit of it . Altogether a different experience. I felt the price could be looked into .....it was slightly on higher side.

1. Over zealous discipline of minors, leading to investigation of allegations of widespread physical and verbal abuse by supervisory personnel. 2.Unilateral allocation of punishment, regardless of guilt or otherwise. 3. Negative reinforcement/ comments on performance. 4. Daily exposure to verbal abuse by intoxicated locals.

Dear Mr Fitchet, Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. We are aware of the concerns raised in relation to the discipline of the students on this expedition and we're sorry to hear you were unhappy with how the the leadership managed the discipline. We understand the school are currently dealing with this matter privately with all involved parties and hope this will help to resolve the issues raised here. Many thanks, The Camps Crew

Unfortunately I have had terrible issues dealing with Camps International. For fears of safety I have had to cancel my daughters trip. When asked for a refund I was told zero dollars will be refunded even with valid reasons to cancel. Now I understand that when booking any normal holiday through a travel agent (which is what camps International is) if a cancellation occurs you may loose deposits, however never the full amount. I have been trying to contact them and they will not reply. I have asked for all of the documents and they will not send to me. Total i have paid is $2700, which a lot of money for them just to keep! Dissatisfied and absolutely disappointed. Will never recommend or have any of my kids travel with them!!

Hi Nicole, We are really sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service you have received from us and thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We pride ourselves on our levels of customer service support and apologise if you feel we have fallen short of those standards. A response to your complaint has been sent to you directly today which outlines our position and why we are unable to offer a full refund. However, within that email is some additional advice regarding our insurance policy which may be of assistance to you. Best wishes, The Camps Crew

Attended a sales pitch / presentation from camps international this evening. They claim that teaching the kids to fund raise is a valuable life lesson. They then give you 6 days to find the first deposit. All this teaches the kids is debt. They honestly expect after listening to the wonderful stories for an hour that parents would let their kids travel to some of the most deprived places to be free labour. The important information any educated parent would expect to receive is sadly non existent. They visit the school a week before and hype the kids, get the parents in a week later and then want the first deposit a week after that. They also believe that teenagers in their final GCSE year are able to fund raise nearly five grand without impacting study time. I have so many concerns about this outfit. On the strength of this I would not trust them with a child of mine to go to a McDonalds for four hours, let alone half way round the world, to some of the most deprived areas for four weeks. Read the horror stories on the web before considering getting involved with them.

Hi, We're really sorry to hear you feel this way after attending our presentation. We'd like to reassure you that the school puts a lot of consideration into choosing a provider to offer this opportunity to their students. Our excellent safety record and industry leading standards are key factors for choosing us, along with our Learning Outside the Classroom accreditation and the extensive support we offer throughout the fundraising journey as well as the expedition itself. We fully appreciate that fundraising is a challenge and we don't shy away from that. That's why we offer a huge amount of fundraising support and resources to make this achievable and encourage the development of valuable skills learnt through balancing fundraising and study. The thousands of students who fundraise and travel with us each year are amazing testament to this. We're really disappointed to hear that you feel important information was missing from our presentation. We do try to provide all the information needed to make an informed choice about whether our expeditions are right for your child and also offer the chance to ask questions during the presentation. We'd love to chat with you directly to help answer any additional questions you may have - you can get in touch with us via schools@campsinternational.co.uk or call 01425 485390. Thanks, The Camps Crew

Camp Peru July 2018 We had just the best experience, made some great friends with other team members and all the camp staff were really kind and friendly and looked after us so well. It was amazing to work with locals and help contribute to real peoples’ lives, not just look from a distance. The projects we were taking part in also looked like they’d make a real difference. The trek was awesome to one of the great wonders of the world but all the camps we worked at were in breathtaking locations; sunrise over Lake Titicaca! I was nervous before I left to go to the other side of the planet but in the end I wanted it carry on much longer! Eye opening and life changing, I thoroughly recommend it.

I have just got back from a 2 week trip to Camp Muhaka in Kenya. The only problem i had with the trip was that I couldn't stay for longer! I had the most amazing experience, all thanks to the staff that worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect for us. The project work really made you feel like you were making a huge impact to the local community, and the weekend trips to the beach topped off the week perfectly. It was an unforgettable experience and I am so grateful for everyone who works for Camps for making it possible.

My recent expedition to Borneo was my second adventure with Camps International. You know as soon as you leave home that everything will be sorted and you don’t need to worry. All the team both in country and here in the UK go out of their way to make the whole experience as good as it can be. You always feel totally safe and cared for even in the most remote of locations. Nothing is too much for them to do. Everything is done to give you the most incredible insight in to the country, through learning the language, taking part in local traditional dancers, learning local crafts and spending time with the local children whose enthusiasm is always so infectious. I would always recommend Camps International to anyone wanting to go travelling but also to those who want to give something back in the process, all the projects benefit the local community directly giving them a hand up not a hand out. The students I have travelled with have been humbled by the experiences they have had appreciating life isn’t always about what you’ve got but what you can give. You are often taken out of your comfort zone especially on physical level but you learn so much about yourself that this just adds to the whole enjoyment of the Camps experience.

Hi Sally Thank you for such a lovely review. It really is wonderful to watch our students grow and develop on their journey leading up to their expedition. Seeing their faces and the dawning recognition that there are people in the world that live, day to day with so little, yet are still so positive and have such wonderful aspirations, really is an eye opener for them. We couldn't make the differences we do, without people like yourself and your fantastic students.
