“We were looking for a local stove shop in the Stirling Farlirk area. After initially going to Stirling Stoves we found they were closed and we came across Calido in google. We were very surprised with the good range of stoves on display from brands like Charnwood and Contura. There really is something for everyone in their showroom. John is really knowledgable and helped us pick the perfect stove for our house. They were happy to supply the stove only as we had a friend who would do the installation for us. Buying from Calido meant we could see the stove beforehand and as John pointed out we also get a 10 year Warranty for buying through a Charnwood Premier dealer like Calido. Top experience all round 👍”

“Driver would not deliver to my lock-up garage due to overhanging trees but was helpful in using pallet lift to get them nearer. Next order needs to come in 7.5t truck.”

Hi Iain, thank you for your order and review I’m disappointed to see a star knocked off for what I assume was the fact they couldn’t get to your lock up. Firstly our delivery is advertised as kerbside with anything else being a bonus if terrain and access allow. As you never mentioned the requirement for a 7.5 tonne vehicle at the point of ordering we have no way of knowing one was required. Our terms and our delivery information pages make it clear deliveries are by 18 tonne trucks and that overhanging branches can be a problem. If the requirement for a 7.5tonne vehicle is mentioned on the order notes we can request one and the depot will do their best to provide one but they are not obliged to do so. Apart from the delivery issues I trust the products burn well. Kind Regards,

“Calido are always helpful, the order is processed quickly and delivery usually arranged within the week. We buy logs by the crate, well dried and not just dumped in a pile in your driveway. No hidden softwood or rotten logs either!”

“Ordered a pallet of logs, mix of birch and ash. Quality of logs is, as always, excellent. Getting the logs ordered over the phone was quick and painless, although I didn't seem to receive a confirmation email - I did check all folders, but it's entirely possible that I just missed it. The 1 star down is for the delivery - unfortunately the driver was unable to unload the pallet from the truck and therefore we had to manually lift the bags off. It's worth noting though, we do live on a hill and I think that played a part in being unable to lower the tail lift. However over recent times, we've had a lot of heavy pallet deliveries and this is the first time this has happened. It was lucky we ordered bagged logs (not just a crate!) and that there were two of us available to help getting the sacks lifted off, otherwise it would have taken a long time!”

“Received the order as planned. Driver phoned 30 minutes before delivery and was extremely helpful when unloading pallet. Having ordered verdo logs previously ordered these lewis briquettes in lieu, delighted with the heat output and convenience, well wrapped too.”

“I popped in for a bag of logs for my new stove and came out with a pallet of 40 bags of ash logs, a log store (delivered and erected next day), a companion set, log basket and kindling - plus the original bag of logs! John is a great guy to do business with (obviously!) - knowledgable, friendly and really enthusiastic about his business. And the delivery driver Was cheerful and helpful. Now sitting contentedly by my fire. Brilliant.”

“Delivery on time.. Despite doubts as to kerbside delivery the supplied netting bags were first class for moving. In future the crate delivery would have been would be okay provided the delivery vehicle was equipped with powered pallet facility.”
