“The delivery was prompt and the whole experience effortless. Sadly the lid pins I ordered were slightly too small for my bin and they don't seem to do any larger ones.”

“I ordered some scaffold planks we needed for a job. 3-5 day delivery was £26. So I added a roll of felt thinking if I'm paying that much postage I may as well get other things we might need. They added another £20 to the postage making the felt very expensive. As if that wasn't bad enough the felt arrived in 10 days and the planks 2 days later. About a week after we needed them.”

“Advertising trying to sell items they do not have waited over a week and when i enquired what had happened to the item i was then told not in stock and money refunded. Would not use them again due to poor customer service.”

“Paid for 3-5 day delivery and 20 days later I’m still waiting for my order. It was just one sheet of ply, a simple thing to deliver. I wouldn’t recommend this company and won’t shop here again.”

“Past orders were okay however this order was 6 days past the agreed delivery and made me late starting a fairly important job. The customer was not very pleased.”

“The lady on the help line was nice. Customer service not open on Saturday. No msg or phone call informing that the timber was delivered. Timber was delivered to number 20 and not 72.”

“More reasonable prices on some basic materials than some crazy currently. T&G chipboard and plywood sheets. Expensive carriage even though T&G flooring is heavy and bulky - though perhaps more understandable when each piece was individually wrapped for freshness. It's difficult stuff to transport being not only heavy and bulky but having fragile edges and corners which need to be protected. It was well packed and arrived reasonably intact but shame about enough cardboard packing to stretch from the earth to the moon?! There must be a better way? Original web site checkout tried to add ~£500 to the order (didn't deduct something I had in fact removed from the basket?). After completing a phone order to remedy this I received an exasperating email offering me 5% off my uncompleted web order which would have been worth something. During various efforts to get a straight answer on the actual delivery day two separate promises to get back to me were not kept.”

“Ordered MDF and birch plywood 22nd of June. 3-5 days delivery on website. Email one week later saying MDF out of stock and refund given for MDF. Got tracking number for plywood on 28th of June with Caribou. Tracking on Caribou just shows ‘label printed’. Delivery randomly shows up on 13th of July with no warning. Tracking still says ‘label printed’ even though delivered. Luckily my wife was home to accept delivery or else I’m sure it would have just been left on the front porch. Delivered by one guy so my wife had to help him carry heavy sheets of plywood into the house. I guess they expect you to sit at home 24/7 from order to delivery?”

“As I have had no response from @sales regarding my missing item hoping this review may get me an answer. Delivery was slower than stated and goods damaged due to poor packaging. Not great experience so far.”

“paid £38 delivery and waited a week for only half my order to be delivered - guess it will be another week to hopefully get the rest - if i can get what i want from elsewhere i doubt i will use builders merchant again”
