“I refer to my earlier complaint regarding the poor quality and missing stems of the bouquet costing GB£50 ordered for delivery to my mother during the Christmas period. I greatly appreciated your acknowledgment of the inadequacy of the bouquet and your offer to resend an equivalent replacement. . The said replacement bouquet, with date of 3 January on the mailing label, was delivered on 24 January (i.e. approximately three weeks later). I provide a photo of the bouquet which, given the three weeks it had spent somewhere in transit, obviously made an even worse impression on its recipient than the original one as most of the flowers were very dead and some stems broken and crushed. Bless my Mum, who, my sister tells me, insisted that she try to salvage whatever she could—hence the gruesome display in the vase. Fortunately, my sister, who was aware of the situation and of my frustrated efforts to secure a fitting floral tribute to our Mum, was present at time of delivery and went quickly to a local florist to purchase a bouquet of fresh flowers. Needless to say, I will not be using your services again and henceforth will take up my sister’s offer to purchase flowers for Mum directly from the local florist.”
