About Billingham:

Billingham are a family owned company, manufacturing camera bags for the world’s photographers since 1973 alongside a range of leisure and laptop bags. All bags are made in the West Midlands area of England, a region famous for manufacturing. A core reason for Billingham’s longevity is the fact that from the start, the Billingham family were determined that their products would always be made to the very highest standards from the best available materials to provide high levels of protection for their valued contents.

A notable feature of Billingham camera bags is that they are made from a distincive 3-layer waterpoof canvas that never needs reproofing. They also feature genuine top grain leather and solid brass details.

“My 335 was in need of an internal Velcro strip repair inside. Billingham made a brilliant job (it was like new) and had a good turnaround time. The staff I spoke to on the telephone and by email uwere lovely and made sorting the repair out a breeze. Thanks”

“Excellent small bag from Billingham. I carried 2 Nikon D850’s around Rome for hours on end with 35mm and 105mm lenses attached and straps for both cameras. Heavy but the bag was more than up to it.”

“This was a special present for my daughter - this was the one wanted she wanted even though it was out of our price range she had done her homework re owing others but still opt for this camera case - she is very happy with the camera case - it’s very stylish, well made with quality fabric and hopefully it will last a very long time”

“Billingham 550 bag. This is a review for a repair to my bag including replacing the zip, the corner reinforcements with the metal feet and the leather end panels that reinforce the strap mounting. The contact with the customer service department was excellent and friendly despite all my questions and additions to the job. On return the bag looked excellent, all the repairs were completed to a very high standard yet the general patina of the bag was retained as per my request. Overall very pleased with every aspect of this repair. It was quite a while (somewhere between 12 hours and a week) getting a reply to my original query but in fairness it was the middle of the covid outbreaks and it was made clear on their website that they were very busy. Once the original reply was received the back and forth communication was very prompt.”

“I have used Billingham bags since a prototype I purchased in 1976, at a Photofair in West Bromwich Town Hall hosted by Smethwick Photographic Society. I sold it in 1989..My current bag was purchased in 1990, and has done sterling service as a camera bag or as an overnight bag throughout Europe, the Middle East and parts of Latin America. It has never let me down. The 72 bag is a specific purchase for my recently acquired Leica Q2. It is already a good friend.”

“Product was as advertised. Delivery was prompt and without incident. Customer Support, as always, is very good at fielding any questions related to my purchases. They certainly help me to decide. “I took a Hadley One on a trip to Dubai in May but it was a bit cumbersome, don't get me wrong it's great for a big holiday with all the camera's that go with it. But I wanted to travel light for a quick week away. When I got back I found the Airline stowaway and fell for it hook line and sinker, I found a nice second hand but the strap was a bit short. I contacted Billingham and Mel put me right on it, bought it straight away just it, love. Perfect.... Thankyou Billingham and Mel keep kicking out high end beautifully made bags.”

“I actually wanted a laptop bag that could double as a photography bag if required. Having a 16’ MacBook the Eventer Mk2 was to small. In the end I opted for the Hadley Pro Large. It’s overkill for the main purpose. The laptop is reasonably well padded in the bag although it must be said that there is no padding in the base. My main issue is that you have to unfasten the buckles to open rather than the top handle and there is no zip protection for the main compartment. Again this is based on my intended purpose for a laptop. As a photography bag it is very good, accommodating a full frame DSLR with 2.8 24-70 lens and 70-200. Both front pockets volume can be reduced with by a press stud fastener and easily takes a SB900 flash head. The quality of materials is as expected for a Billingham which is excellent. Purchased direct in sage, the bag has had a fair bit of use now as laptop/photography and an overnight bag with the insert removed. I would of liked the main compartment to have a zip closure to prevent ingress of sand/dust or keep content hidden from bystanders say at a wedding event like some of the other models. In the end the bag is trying to fulfil a large remit and on the whole it does this very well.”

“I bought my Hadley Pro in 2005. Not only is it still in use but I can still get attachments that fit it! The end pocket AVEA 7 increases the storage available and allows an increase in kit without the need to buy a new bag. Happy customer.”
