About Billingham:

Billingham are a family owned company, manufacturing camera bags for the world’s photographers since 1973 alongside a range of leisure and laptop bags. All bags are made in the West Midlands area of England, a region famous for manufacturing. A core reason for Billingham’s longevity is the fact that from the start, the Billingham family were determined that their products would always be made to the very highest standards from the best available materials to provide high levels of protection for their valued contents.

A notable feature of Billingham camera bags is that they are made from a distincive 3-layer waterpoof canvas that never needs reproofing. They also feature genuine top grain leather and solid brass details.

“I have been loving the product from the first day I received it. My purchase has been worth it. The product not only matched my bag (also a Billingham that I purchased earlier from the local sypplier) but also of very high quality. I look forward to enjoying it in many more years to come. “I have many billingham products and like all this one is fantastic. My issue is I contacted Billingham about My Hadley one which I wanted to add a binocular Galbin 8. I was told it was not compatible and so I ordered the Avea 8. I was with a friend who uses a Galbin 8 and she asked me why I keep my binos in an Avea when I should be using a Galbin. I told her that Billingham themselves told me it was not compatible. She the attached her Galbin to my Hadley one, which fitted perfectly. Billingham lying to customers because they don’t know their own products. Despicable practice.”

Thank you for your review. Firstly, I am so sorry that you feel that we lied to you - this is not the case. When my colleague tried to attach the Galbin to a Hadley One in the office, we had to apply force to get the press studs to close and it was causing the top of the leather securing tabs to pull at the stitching which isn't something that we were comfortable recommending if it is likely to cause damage to the product. I believe my colleague has reached out to you privately on this matter and I can only apologise that we perhaps didn't fully explain our reasonings for recommending that the Galbin doesn't fit on the Hadley One. In addition, the AVEA End Pockets were designed to fit on the Hadley One by having slimmer and longer leather straps whereas the Galbin wasn't designed for this purpose. I can only apologise again, it was not our intention to mislead you in any way. Kind regards Billingham Team

“My old big Billingham bag has been used very extensively over the last 10 years and still look very good (khaki). Incredible quality. Was eager to try the new 307. Must say it is absolutely amazing - and with superb attention to detail. The stiching fx is incredible - and the shoulder strap super strong and comfortable. Fits my 13" MacBook Air perfectly plus amble space for my Canon and a few long (100mm macro, 135mm prime) lenses. Highly recommend.”

“I bought my first Billingham bag when I decided to stop working for others and turn freelance. That first purchase was a 445Mk1 in 1988. A 550, small Hadley and 2 Stowaways followed over the next couple of decades. They are all still in great condition despite being on location in UK and europe in all weathers. The latest purchase of a small AVIA 3 end pocket was to keep cash and cards safe attached to my belt,it fitted the bill, why would I look any further than Billigham.”

“This company offers very well built and well thought out products. They are not cheap but they can last a very long time. I have some products approaching 10 years of hard use and they look more or less the same and have zero loss of function and protection. If properly closed, their camera bags offer excellent protection against rain and snow.”

“I had lost the clogball (fastener toggle) from my very old camera bag. Billingham customer services sent two (only asked for one), immediately without charge apart from post. Very pleased as expected to pay owing to the age of the bag.”

“Bought because my old Hadley pro (cost - new £76) was just half an inch too short in height for my new Nikon Z8 with lens attached to protect it, otherwise I'd still be using it. Hadley One is beautifully made as expected and does the job as expected. It is not quite as "bendy" and body hugging as my old bag but I am getting used to it and I will learn to love lt. My only major gripes are that I had to buy the full size insert to make it work for me. I think Billingham should offer a choice between the two types of insert when buying new; and secondly,as everyone says the shoulder pad should be included. At my age this will be my last bag.”

“I'm a self declared Billingham fanboy, the bags are beautifully made and look great when brand new and even better with a few battle scars, consequently I have four different bags for different combinations of kit and my most recent purchase has been a second Hadley Pro but this time the 2020 version. It's lovely as i expected. The Hadley Pro 2020 has a removable shoulder strap, when purchasing the latest bag I didn't anticipate that this feature would be so useful so soon. Unfortunately I managed to trap the shoulder strap of my new Hadley in a very oily car door lock at the weekend. The nasty oil mark goes beyond "charming battle scar" but thankfully the ability to replace the shoulder strap and the new strap received today has restored my bag to "as new status”. Relief!”

“The camera bag is a little too small for two Leica camera bodies and four M len's. My 307 is much easy to work out of, so my purchase of the 207 was a bad mistake! Both bags can be very heavy during all day walking and shooting. So for two bodies and four M lens I will stick with my 307. I wish Billingham would make a Camera Sling like a well known German maker!”
