"I had 2 sofas for collection. They arrived within 2 days of calling them. 4 men came to inspect them. I had removed all the cushions from sofas so they could just carry out the sofas easily. They pointed out the difference in the material where the cushions are normally and how the material below looked. Said it was stained from the light. I put cushions back in place and it was perfect. So now before we donate to them we are to keep all our furniture in a dark room so as it won\u2019t fade. Would have been a lovely addition to someone\u2019s house but they refused to take. As someone mentioned in another comment they basically want new furniture. I won\u2019t be using their services again."

"Terrible attitude from delivery driver who turned down a perfectly sellable sofa. I called the BHF for collection of a perfectly good corner L shaped sofa. It had all the fire labels and all the covers were washable (which I had washed before collection date) Compared to the sofas I had seen in the BHF Huntington store it was in great condition and as someone who has been involved in a similar charity business of collection I was sure the process would be straightforward. I was the second collection on their list of that morning and subsequently they turned up on time in a Luton van, and from the conversation I had on the phone the kind lady explained, \"... they are usually on time because they like to finish promptly at 3pm given its a Friday...\" I understood the rule that the fire label proof was priority and immediately went to show the delivery driver the labels. He didn't even look at the sofa. He picked up one of the sofa cushions and said... \"If you just come outside with me mate I'll tell you what my problem is...\" He told me to smell the cushion and said that it smelt pongy and if it was taken into their warehouse depot it would end up smelling worse. He took the approach that I was off loading junk to save on disposal cost. I felt completely insulted, not only the previous week I had completed many skip runs and had opportunities to dispose of this sofa I am sure this driver was preventing the BHF from making a small amount of money for them. I believe this driver had no intention of picking up this large sofa from the start because they didn't want to overload their empty van too early which may have caused them to make more collection runs for the day and upset their usual Friday schedule of getting off work. Some of these employees of the BHF are more concerned about easy work than having the he heart to make some money for a Charity organization. The delivery driver was telling me someone with OCD issues that my sofa was pongy, I felt insulted and rather stand there listening to any more of his drivel I told directly that his whole approach towards me had been insulting, he was using his discretion for refusal to collect for his own personal gain, I wasn't listening to him anymore and to get out of my home and stop wasting anymore of my time! My experience of this tells me that the BHF really needs to look at some of their employees who carry out the collection service and I understand that there are people who will try to use charities to offload junk to save disposal costs, but this collection driver was terrible and on this occasion lost the BHF potential money. The BHF managers need to review the approach some of their collection drivers take towards furniture donors and to be more knowledgeable about what stock is good and bad. This particular driver lost the Charity potential money."

"Because we are going into your store intending buying an item but they only want to deliver it as flat pack no matter if it is relatively small when I asked why I cannot get it delivered as seen as we are pensioners and would not be able to put it together they then said that they would build it for another \u00a340 so the item that I was interested in costs \u00a3139 delivery charges \u00a338 and then they want another \u00a340 absolutely disgusted anyone thinking about donating to this profiteering so called charity should absolutely think again"

"Dont deal with these guys - certainly not the Biker store . I thought I was doing the right thing donating three leather sofas (rather than dumping them) because they were in good condition (had been lightly used in a high end holiday let) . My replacements were delivered on the Thursday and I had BHF booked to collect the old ones on Friday morning. At no point had BHF suggested there were any conditions other than the sofas had to have fire safety labels (which they had). On arrival the men point out a few minor scuffs and a bit of fading and said they didn't want them !!!! I am extremely frustrated at this as I could have had them taken away when my new ones arrived. I won't be going to the effort again to donate to BHF"

"Booked a collection for a specific date for two large double wardrobes and three charity bags. The date was accepted by BHF within a few days, and on the morning of the collection I received a text along with tracking details for the van driver Galin. I had had to dismantle the wardrobes slightly (separate top and bottom parts) due to the weight, and kept the screws and allen keys in a ziploc bag. One of the wardrobes was missing a handle, which BHF had stated was fine. \r\n\r\nThe driver and his colleague arrived promptly at 8.40am. We'd forgotten to screw the top of a wardrobe back on, but they weren't concerned when I showed them the ziploc bags, and took the wardrobes without any issues. Pleased with the service, everything went smoothly and as hoped for!"

"Donating a sofa set both in great condition leather creased no cracks all labels attached. Blokes turned up with van already full took pics of our stuff and said they wouldn't take ad it's cracked (it's not.... The reso was a profit thing witch BTW its free they sell all a profit regardless of price. The staff were rude and dispondent and disintested."
