“The process of delivery was simple and straight forward. The delivery guys were very friendly and put together our dining table in no time and showed us how to extend the table. They also gave us tips about unassembling the table if we need to in future. I would highly recommend Barker and Stonehouse as their customer service is 10/10.”

“We have bought lots of lovely things which we are still very happy with. However the delivery times have been varied and mainly long. This is disappointing especially when it say 'In Stock'. Getting things in the clearance sale is good. We have even come away with a beautiful leather arm chair in the back of our mini convertible! Too good a price to leave!”

“hugely disappointed. Great staff and great product on display. staff in store could not be nicer. That is where the nice experience ends. Delivery dates constantly moved no one returns calls or emails - product delivered was not only faulty - but not correctly put up - unable to speak to someone. so disappointed as have the potential to be great. Shame the staff in-store have to suffer to the staff behind the scenes”

“Side table arrived within a week of ordering , i was pleased it was already made , no screwdrivers required , table is perfect for my needs , simple , sturdy and black . Hopefuly will get the chance to shop here again soon”

“Sofas are fine, as advertised. I also purchased silicone gliders for the legs to help when moving them around the room. The gliders are just stuck on by the delivery crew; almost immediately one started coming off, it seemed to be the leg below where I normally sit. I contacted Barker and Stonehouse, who fitted some more; that didn't sort the issue so I contacted them again. They ordered some pre fitted silicone gliders (I'm assuming screwed to the base of the legs) which I think must be the new way they are supplied. They came... but were the wrong colour. Again following another call they have been replaced now with the right coloured legs. After a bit backwards and forwards B and S have sorted the issues out, so I have no issues with the service that they have provided. The reason for the 4 star review is; why did they not supply the newer style of legs in the first place rather than having several issues to get things sorted satisfactorily.”

“We have not yet received our item so cannot comment on that however, I can speak about my shopping experience. On that front I can say the website was easy to use and communication has been swift & efficient. What was not so pleasurable however was the extortionate delivery/ service costs. We purchased an item which cost ?600 and the delivery charge was ?60!! Furthermore, the website states that they charge an additional ?100 if you want the item unpacked and the packaging taken away. As a consumer I have no say on what a manufacturer or retailer packs their goods in but I am then apparently also expected, after already spending ?660 (cost of item and delivery) to pay more to get them to dispose of whatever packaging this might be. Now I understand that there are costs involved regarding delivery etc and am happy to pay them however, to be so blatantly over charging/ marking this up especially when you are spending large sums of money already is, in my opinion, disgraceful. You clearly have a business model that is made to think about only of one thing - pure profit at every opportunity. Updated - we have now received our item and it is a beautiful peace of furniture. The delivery men were polite & efficient and it arrived when they said it would. I still however stand by comments regarding the delivery costs. We purchased a sideboard/ bedroom chest of drawers which is already fully assembled. Also, it had absolutely no packaging on it what so ever and was taken out of the van ?naked?. So, I have paid ?60 just for delivery. To put it in perspective, we also purchased a bed for ?595 from another supplier. This was delivered and fully assembled on site with packaging disposed of for ?25. A stark comparison and evidence of the ridiculous mark up put on the delivery here.”

“Good quality furniture. If you are looking something different from a mainstream then this furniture maker/seller is for you. The only issue was a long awaiting for a delivery since Barker and Stonehouse is based in England and the company does not have re-sellers in Glasgow/Edinburgh area.”

“WORST customer service I have encountered. I ordered a wardrobe with chest of drawers and on 3rd of March from Birstall Store and waited for the store to contact me on delivery time. after the stipulated 9 weeks they still had not contacted to inform me of what's happened so I begun chasing them. The customer service was so useless and all they kept saying was they could not do anything about it till I went to the store to speak with the manager who explained the delay and tried to arrange a delivery time. When I got delivery date and time, I requested for a change in slot time, but again customer service could not help again. The lady said she will get the warehouse to ring me by 8 am to discuss rearrangement but you can guess - no one called so I called central office who then got them to call me to finally arrange a convenient time to deliver. My experience with Barker and Stonehouse is really painful an upsetting and I would never recommend anyone to make purchases for delivery from them.”

“I wish I had read this review site before ordering from B&S. Dreadful customer service. I ordered a nest of tables in February. They were delivered at the beginning of May. The marble top of the one of the tables was broken. It’s been three weeks of endless phone calls, unhelpful staff responses, inconsistent responses, not one promise of a call back was kept. I even wrote to the managing director yesterday, 24 hours later no response from him either. I still haven’t been contacted by the company. I wouldn’t recommend buying from this company based on my after sales experience with them.”

“We bought a dining table and subsequently some dining chairs. Both purchases were very smooth. We were never pressured into buying just given information and help when requested. We were kept informed of delivery and collection and even had a call advising us of a utube video on how to put our table together (much appreciated). Very impressed with all aspects of the service and very happy with our purchases and price”

“Overall excellent service and high quality, beautiful Sofa. We placed our order online, which was followed up by swift confirmation from B&S. Delivery details were provided and met as promised and the guys did a fantastic job regarding final placement of the sofa where we required. From start to finish the professionalism was excellent right through to seeing the level of protection that our delivery received when in transit. Without hesitation I would use B&S again and I highly recommend. Many thanks.”

“A copy of Barker & Stonehouse, Battersea SW11, Spring 2019 came into my possession quite by chance. Bringing back old memories of London I decided to look at the Catalogue. I saw a superb rug that I really liked and in a sale too. I phoned the Company and spoke to a really helpful lady called Georgie. She was superb. I went on to buy the item and absolutely love it. Even the telephone operators sound super in that Company, very polite, pleasant and make you glad you phoned. Hooked with the smaller rug I have now got back to Georgie and ordered a bigger one, making a second purchase. The patience and help offered was first class. I wish I needed more items to get the care and dedication I received at Barker and Stonehouse. I would definitely without doubt recommend the Staff and Service.”

“Absolutely love our new table and bench set. Everyone comments on how gorgeous it is . Such good service too. The delivery men kept me up to date with what time they were coming and placed it in situ with no problems . Really friendly too. Thank you , I am so pleased with my purchase .”
