“Having an old friend approaching a major birthday seems an ideal opportunity to remind them they are older than yourself (albeit only a little). Adding a quality tipple to ease the pain also seemed a nice touch. Ballantynes provided the obvious solution with an engraved bottle of champagne. The process of ordering the required brand and adding the words was simple. A draft of the proposed engraving (sand blasting?) arrived via email within minutes. A quick exchange to agree delivery (very responsive, very flexible) and the deal was done. Delivery happened as planned and the recipient was delighted (mostly). All in all I could not wish for an easier way to both tease and mollify my close friends.”
