“Great stay in Dubrovnik and Sipan island. The two-center split was ideal. Dubrovnik was great but busy. Sipan Island was very relaxing. Everything was as described and the transfers to the hotels were spot on and stress free. We also seemed to get very good rooms. The one in Sipan had a sea view balcony as did Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik.”

“From first contact with Balkan Escapes, I was impressed with the suggested itinerary and the speed at which my query was dealt with. A telephone call and subsequent emails from Jack also made the process feel more personal. We chose a 3 centre holiday and were very satisfied with the standard of accommodation and breakfast in all 3 hotels. Airport transfers worked well and it was reassuring to have emergency contact numbers in case of a no- show. Ferry transfers were booked at convenient times to allow for checkout and arrival at the port. The standard of service from Balkan Escapes was excellent - suggested itineraries were useful to help with planning day to day activities. Travel documents and travel tips were sent on time. My recommendation for improvement would be to allow more time from the hotel pick up to Dubrovnik airport in an afternoon as were were delayed in traffic. Fortunately the flight was delayed a little too. I would recommend Balkan Escapes and would certainly consider booking with them again”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Croatia and felt that it met our needs... time for the beach as well as to explore the islands a bit. The hotel in Split was satisfactory. It was a bit further away from the centre than we expected and we would have preferred something closer to the centre. The staff were friendly and helpful though. The breakfast was satisfactory, though we would have preferred a bit more choice. The hotel in Hvar town, though very big, met our needs well and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Its location was great, as was the view from the bar. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel in Bol was good, but to get to it there was a big hill to climb, so without a car it was not ideal. It had a nice pool, and the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was fine. All the transfers worked well and made getting around very easy. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the service provided by Balkan Escape. One comment I would make is that we might have preferred more choice of hotels along with advice as to the pros and cons of each. We liked that the holiday was perfectly tailored to our needs, and that is a great strength of Balkan Escape. We would certainly recommend the company to friends who are looking for a tailor-made trip to Croatia. “I booked a small cruise via Balkan Escape. Jack was able to help identify the vessels that met our requirements in terms of cabin availability and routes, book and liaise with the vessel company. He was very helpful and responsive. We received all the relevant documentation and information in good time. The holiday itself was just as we hoped. A lovely boat with only 20 other guests, a great itinerary that we could opt in or out of and plenty of swim stops.”

“We recently returned from an enjoyable holiday in Croatia, organised by Balkan Escape. We found all the arrangements - hotels, flights, transfers etc went smoothly with no problems. All instructions provided were clear. All paperwork needed was provided as expected and on time. The 3 hotels we stayed in were recommendations of Balkan Escape and met, if not exceeded our expectations. A special mention to Splendida Palace in Split with their excellent service and the very different Amfora Grand Beech Resort in Hvar. We found our dealings with Balkan Escape to be friendly and professional, and any queries answered promptly. Everything worked out superbly - great hotels, locations, tips on things to do and also the convenience of having pre-arranged travel to and from the airports and between the two locations. Your service was excellent. We all had a fabulous time and would strongly recommend you to anyone looking to travel to the Balkans or elsewhere. There is nothing we would choose to do differently on reflection. Your support in making choices initially for the holiday and then having very clear and easy to follow instructions greatly removed the typical stress of a holiday. “Excellent holiday, very well organised - never had such smooth transfers from airport to hotel to second hotel and back to airport! Must mention our taxi driver who took us to Sipan and back and told us about Croatia and the countryside we were driving through. We stayed in Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik which was within walking distance of the city as described (frequent bus service too). Hotel Bozica on Sipan was beautiful and lived up to expectations. Very relaxing 5 days here. Would recommend Dubrovnik Walking Tours (Red Umbrella tours) which we booked online - did the history walk (as opposed to Game of Thrones one) and guide was excellent and full of general advice about the city. Would definitely recommend Ballkan Escapes to others.”

“A first holiday in Croatia, we had no idea where to start, other than we knew we really wanted to see Dubrovnik. Both advisers from Balkan Escape were brilliant, responsive, helpful and knowledgeable and helped by changing things to keep to our budget, with accommodation options to choose from, that met our needs. Our trip included all transfers and all of this went brilliantly, all on time with no issues. Usually, we book everything ourselves, but with lots going on at home it was lovely to have it all done for a change and I would definitely recommend Balkan Escapes and book with them again.”

“We had a great time on Sipan Croatia, a beautiful island staying in Hotel Bozica. It's a lovely family owned hotel with attentive and friendly staff. The food is amazing and each evening you can choose fresh fish (catch of the day) if you desire. This holiday certainly exceeded our expectations and had it not been for Jack at Balkan Escape we wouldn't have found it ourselves. From start to finish everything was seamless, the transfers via speed boat and taxi perfect. I would highly recommend this company as initially we only had a vague idea of what we wanted and Jack more than met our requirements. Will definitely book with them in the future.”
