“I'm generally very happy with AWBS, good products, good prices, good website for online ordering. However on this occasion the delivery service seemed a bit chaotic compared to previous orders. In the past AWBS have generally delivered the next day before lunch, often around 9am. On this occasion I received a message that the entire order would be delivered in three day's time because one small item was out of stock. When I phoned up to cancel the small item they said that it had "just come back in stock" so they would deliver the next day after all. However they couldn't guarantee any time and in the end they didn't turn up until nearly 4pm. Maybe this is due to difficulty recruiting HGV drivers (?) but I hope they can get back to the previous high standards of service, or else start to offer approximate time of delivery.....”

Hi Rob, thank you for your review. We offer a free local delivery service and our vehicles are allocated deliveries on a multi-drop basis therefore it is impossible to give any guarantees of the time a delivery may arrive on a set day. Our deliveries are scheduled between 8am - 5pm. We understand this can be frustrating however as past experience has taught us if we were to give customers timed deliveries this can lead to further problems as often things can change throughout the day, therefore we have made it a strict company policy that we do not give times for our deliveries on the allocated day. “A bag of planting soil was delivered by a very accommodating driver who was happy to drop the bag over our garden wall and into the back garden instead of out front. This made the job of moving the soil so much easier. I have used AWBS several times in recent months and am very happy with their ordering and delivery services”

“Fantastic shingle! We were so impressed with how quickly our second order arrived and how kind it was of the delivery people to put our 1/3 full bag from our previous order on top of the new delivery, so it took up less space in our front garden!”

“Bubbenhall 20mm . Really pleased with gravel. Really helpful man who delivered them spaced the three bulk bags where I wanted them which meant I just had to split the bags and rake out, not need for a wheelbarrow. Definitely recommend the gravel and the delivery man.”

“Im only giving you 3 stars rather than 5 because, despite giving clear instructions including the gate code to my electric gates, you have dropped 2/3 bags out on the pavement outside the house which means I have to load all the shingle an extra 10metres - I dont understand why?”

“So actually I liked their guys but having my fences and gate replaced in November 20 I’m now out of warranty and the post are splitting vertically. Guy who originally did the job kindly came round and explained that the wood available has wider rings therefore poorer quality. I asked Warwick if better grade of wood was available he said no. Disappointed in so many ways - I’m fairly acceptable of human mistakes but even the gate wasn’t measured correctly. They tried to hammer an ugly board to compensate but by then I just wanted them out. So disappointing. Just because it’s local and have previously been fab doesn’t mean they’ll be able to replicate their excellence. Flaky FYI..”

Hello, we are sorry to hear you’re disappointed with our service. We were looking into your issue but unfortunately you did not give us a chance to respond to you before leaving us a negative review. All treated softwood timber products are prone to warping, cracking, twisting and splitting and weathering, however this is NOT a manufacturing fault but a natural process that can occur when the moisture content in a piece of timber changes unevenly, usually due to seasonal changes, weather and air humidity. The “ugly board” you refer to was a capping rail that was installed in order to stop the gate from swinging back. This is common practice with most of our timber gate installations. Thank you, AWBS.
