“The accommodation was lovely all the people were friendly and helpful. The people taking us on the activities were brilliant. The food was good. We saw the Northern Light on three occasions The groups were small and intimate. We all had a great time and have lots of photos and memories. It seemed longer than the six days because we busy all the time. Thank you. On the last day the bus to take us to the airport via the ice hotel did not turn up and a friend of the owners took us albeit 35 minutes late. The night when we were going to the sky station we went for dinner at 18.30 to allow time for 20.40 we were first in the restaurant. We finished our starter and main course and were left waiting for the pudding. When we explained that we were going on the trip and it was 45 mins since finishing our main course the waiter argued with us that it was restaurant and 'what should we expect'. We were not pleased with this altercation as we went to the restaurant in good time and ended up with no spare time. In the end it was too windy to go on the chair lift. So this spoiled a little bit out lovely break. However we still have great memories and would be happy to recommend Weekend a la carte to our friends.”

“The whole package was fantastic. Everything went to plan perfectly and to cap it all we had two whole evenings of the aurora. All the activities were so much fun with informative guides. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The lodge and our upgraded room were lovely, cosy and warm. The food at the lodge is indescribably good. Before I went I thought the holiday was quite expensive but it was something I had wanted to do for ages and it was a special occasion, but now I realise it was worth every penny. The whole holiday was a beautiful experience.”

“Everything was perfect; transfers, accommodation, meals and the activities were a total blast!! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, we couldn't have asked for more. We loved it and were very luck to see the lights 3 out of the 5 nights we were there.”

“We returned last night from Abisko. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this trip was. It exceeded expectations in every respect. We had the most astonishing luck with the aurora and the people, food, lodgings, activities....everything was just spectacular. If I could, I'd be back in Abisko tomorrow!”

“The whole adventure was first class. We were looked after the minute we stepped of the plane until our return home. Everyone who was there to look after us could not have been more friendly and helpful. all our needs were catered for. A special mention must go to all the staff who escorted us on our chosen activities for making them really memorable and great fun. A special thanks must go to Sigga and Magnus in Iceland who were both enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and made our stay more enjoyable, All our accommodation was first class, exquisite food and stunning locations. We would definitely recommend Weekend a la carte and hopefully will be using them again in the future.”

“We had a great time! We were lucky enough to see the northern lights on 3 out of 4 nights. All the guides within and out of the lodge were informative, helpful and enthusiastic. The activities weren't too far away and with the picturesque views too we felt very spoilt. We met some lovely people and made some wonderful memories, we would highly recommend!”

“First we did not see any Whales and secondly the northern lights were a little weak but at least gave us a hint. That's the bad news none of which is of your making. We had a fabulous few days and just loved the Country and it's people. The hotels were really good and the food at The Ion Hotel was exceptional. Breathtaking vistas of this truly different destination. As far as your arrangements are concerned everything went fairly smoothly apart from a few little hitches but so small not really worth mentioning. All in all we had a wonderful time. “The accommodations were lovely and not massive. The first two places we stayed at were very friendly and more intimate... the third place was friendly but busier but still good. Every meal was perfect wherever we went but especially at the Wilderness cabin. Every activity was excellent and the best evening was the photo evening where cameras were provided... so we were able to take the most fantastic shots of the lights.”

“All the activities that were booked went like clockwork. They were most enjoyable and the guides made us feel like we weren't just a number, but very special clients. Even the drivers of the transfer vehicles made us feel special. Our hotel staff were especially friendly and polite. Accommodation was most comfortable. The level of cuisine was incredible and unexpected in such a remote place. I had one issue with it however - having known well in advance that I couldn't eat fish, whenever it was on the menu, I was only served vegetarian courses. No meat alternative was served. I was very disappointed to say the least.”

“A big thank you to you for 'rescuing' our trip. The arrangements you made for us were absolutely excellent. At one stage we were facing a bit of a disaster, with all the cancelled excursions due to the weather, and then the heavy snow in Reykjavik but you 'saved the day' by arranging alternative transport to get to our second hotel when the hire car company was 'snowed in'. AND we got to see the Northern Lights on our last night at Ranga. How lucky was that! We would also like to extend a big thank you to South Coast. All their guys (and one lady) were terrific. They were friendly, very knowledgeable about Iceland and made the trips so enjoyable. Our Iceland trip was well planned by Weekend a La Carte, arranging all the things we wanted to do and see. We hope to be in contact with you again for other trips.”

“The venue was very good and the food excellent. Most of the excursions were excellent except for the coach trip to Narvik which was very ordinary. The exceptional excursions were the Snowmobiling, Dog sledding and the Ice Hotel”

“Great 4 day break and much as expected from the descriptions provided by the Weekend a la carte Aurora Nights team. The staff at the Mattarahkka Sami Northern Lights Lodge were all very friendly and ensured that the visitors made the best of the experiences that they had booked.”
