Very well organised. A good mix of activities. The Ice Hotel was a great experience, and we loved Abisko Mountain Lodge.

Everything! The personable and communal experience at both Mattarahka Lodge and the Wilderness Cabins was so wonderful. We were so well taken care of, and the food was sensational. We were delighted to see an amazing display of the Northern lights in Kiruna, as well as rare Nacreous clouds in Abisko. We absolutely loved our dog sled experience with Yvla, and Mikko (and his dog Axa!) went above and beyond for us on our snowmobiling adventure. The Sami experience was also very memorable, and we really appreciated learning so much about the fascinating culture of these people. We would 100% recommend this trip to anyone-it went above and beyond our expectations!

Many experiences provided to give a good overview of Sweden within our time there. Enjoyable food. Friendly staff. Both lodges were of good quality although a little more room in the first one would have helped but the lounge was more comfortable (than the second) and welcoming with coffee, biscuits and log fire to encourage interactions.

The activities such as snowmobiling, dog sledding and Sami experience were excellent. The family who ran the lodge where we stayed were very helpful and friendly.

We have just returned from our short break in Iceland and wanted to thank you for organising everything so well and at such short notice. We were very impressed with the Hotel Ranga... the location is ideal for access to Seljalandsfoss and Eyjafjallajokull; great food; clean and attractive decor. The staff were all friendly and helpful; a good ‘aurora alert’ service... the list of good points goes on and on. Similarly, the tours organised by Southcoast Adventure were superlative. The guide/driver of the Super-Jeep on our first trip, Magnus, was punctual, spoke excellent English, a capable driver over the most inhospitable terrain and well informed about local geology and history. He went out of his way to make sure the day was perfect. The snowmobile trip was also well organised and great fun. Once again a versatile guide, nothing too much trouble and aware of the capabilities and limitations of the small group. Unfortunately the Glacier trip to view the Aurora had to be cancelled due to low cloud, and again the second night, but we did catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights from the hotel and were kept well-informed. The next day we met Saeli, who apologised, (unnecessarily), and explained the weather. Another fascinating and tiring day exploring Reykjavik; the Hotel Centrum being well placed for that. The use of a hire car worked well for us and enabled further visits to Vik and the Golden Circle route. Your instructions and advice prior to our departure were both essential and accurate - a very good and memorable first visit to Iceland – we are most impressed.

I can’t recommend our holiday enough. Kevin Collins at Weekend a la carted was very helpful as we worked through what room and activities we wanted to book. Once there it became apparent we had made the right choices with Kevin’s help, from our lovely room (the Superior room was worth the extra cost) to the quality warm clothing we were given to use throughout our stay courtesy of Weekend a la carte. We needed for nothing. As for Abisko Mountain Lodge, the staff were lovely, the food was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was cosy, friendly and very laid back, just what we needed. The staff on the various activities we did were just as lovely, I cant sing their praises enough. They all made our holiday such a delight. Thanks for an excellent break, we will be recommending it to all our friends and family.

All the arrangements fell into place and we felt the SuperJeep.is were excellent and looked after us very well and although we didn't see a spectacular Aurora, the atmosphere was incredible.

What a fantastic week! Abigail at Weekend a la Carte pulls together a great package for the trip to Iceland. The Wilderness Cabin is awesome! If you like Nordic design (OK IKEA!) then you will love this minimalist but elegant home, underfloor heated and triple glazed to perfection, kitchen with all you need, and food gloriously food! Nobody goes hungry here! Iceland's South Coast Adventures, in the highly capable hands of Saeli do a magnificent job, from Saeli cooking our first night meal with his wonderful personality and stories, to his team of engaging and knowledgeable guides. Stefan did our transfers and snow covered Golden Circle tour taking us to some places those tourist buses could never venture, whilst Magnus superjeep'd us over glacier and through rivers! There is a common saying in Iceland - if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minute - so what was planned may change in an instant - in our case we didn't make it to the top of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano - after 700m up it was a white out, BUT Magnus, far from wanting to disappoint, took us on an 'extra' unplanned adventure to compensate - and boy did he deliver! 15 inch snow, bottom 'sledging' and a walk up a small vale, silent apart from the trickle of a waterfall and the patter of falling snow, looking back out onto the valley below - the highlight and the most memorable moment of the trip. Its safe to say the hallmark of South Coast Adventure is to go the extra mile to make sure you have a wonderful time. To top it all, after our 'Magnus' day, despite the overcast weather which brought such incredible snow, the sky cleared for an hour or so to reveal a small Aurora show - photos to prove it! Reykjavik itself is pails into insignificance after the treat of the wilderness, city centre tourist trap. In summary - Weekend a la Carte ensures the trip has Swiss watch precision, whilst Saeli and his South Coast Adventure team give you an exhilarating ride, showing off the magnificent wilderness that is the wintery wonderland of Iceland.

The cabin for the weekend was fantastic and just what was expected. It was fantastic. The guides from South Coast adventures were awesome. We had Seili and Helmar and these were fantastic and very knowledgable. As an organisation they were very professional and friendly The hotel one the last night was fantastic. Thanks for everything

The cabin was fantastic and the tour guide great, very friendly and informative. The information pack was really helpful. The only suggestion would be recipes for the days we cooked...made up our own because we couldn't work out what some Icelandic ingredients were

The hotels A La Carte organised were well chosen and suited our needs perfectly, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant. We would definitely recommend Weekend A La Carte and use them for future adventures.

This was a really special trip for my husband's birthday and it lived up to all expectations. We were exceptionally well looked after by the staff at the lodge and there was a real personal touch from those delivering the activities. The food and lodge itself were beautiful, it was personal and intimate and very relaxing. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights which was also a bonus. The perfect trip and I will be sure to come back for more in the future as we loved Swedish Lapland.

Views from the cabin were amazing, we didn't want to leave! The whole holiday was fantastic and the guides were brilliant. They couldn't do more to help you. The trip to Posrmork by superjeep was out of this world and the weather was also brilliant. We even saw the aurora on our last night in the cabin which made it extra special.

Five star service all the way. I was worried about booking an organised break but Weekend a la carte helped make this special birthday one to remember. Everything they sourced from accommodation to activities was first class.

Staff at Mountain Lodge were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. Rooms were a little small but clean and comfortable - the planned extensions may improve this. We particularly liked the fact that we were in small groups. All guides were expert and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. The evening at the Sky Station was enjoyable with excellent company and a good meal but no Northern Lights. Our photographic expedition was a disappointment as again there were no lights to photograph. The guided tour to the Norwegian Fjords and Narvik (Particularly their war museum) was interesting. It was fascinating to view the Ice Hotel. We would not wish to stay but the art sculptures were really something different. We saw the Northern Lights! A glimpse on our first night but a magnificent display the second night. (Rated by the locals to have been one of the top 10 of the year. A very successful holiday. A piece of advice though is to ensure that you have a camera that has a long exposure (5 seconds at least) facility and a tripod. The attached photos would have been so much better had such equipment been available as witnessed by others on the trip.

I always travel independently and this is the first "organised" holiday I have booked for more than 20 years. From booking to returning home everything was just so well organised I could have almost imagined I did it myself but without the effort. Abisko Mountain Lodge - faultless. Simple rooms, clean and warm, but that was clearly pointed in the online brochure, the meals restaurant and staff were simply unbeatable. The organised activities were so well arranged and everyone involved extremely helpful knowledgeable. I was extremely lucky to spend 4 nights and saw the Northern Lights every night. If like me you are cautious about booking with Weekend a la Carte I can thoroughly recommend them. I read some reviews before I booked and one just said "Just book it" and that's my final 3 words. Just book it!!
