Our trip was thoroughly enjoyable and filled with great excursions so we felt that we didn't waste a minute. There was a really good balance between planned trips and time enough to explore independently. Clear information was provided in the lead up to the trip and all questions were answered thoroughly. The hotels we stayed at were all in great locations, very clean and check in was easy. The Super Jeep experience is definitely worth a mention. It was a full day of adventure with stops at some beautiful locations and a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Also, the New Years Eve experience at the Perlan was incredible. Great food and fireworks that we'll never forget. Considering all the things you get included within the package it was definitely money well spent for memories that will never be forgotten.

Dear Amy Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback which I have already sent onto our Iceland partners. I am delighted you had such a wonderful time and it is lovely to hear that you did, and makes it so much more worthwhile for us as well ! Thank you again Regards Abigail

Accommodation, hosts and food at Abisko Mountain lodge were superb! Spectacular view and display of the Northern Lights on New Year's Eve. Felt Sami experience (hosts were interesting and cordial but the activities were somewhat disjointed) and Photo Workshop (hosts were informative but the trip was too close to main road to feel in wilderness) were below par, hence 4 rather then 5 stars.

The whole lot was an amazing experience ! Landscapes are wonderful. Activities are great (although sometimes shorter than advertised). Really nice place to stay at ; comfortable bedrooms, free access to the sauna, cosy place near the stove with sofas and free coffe/tea/biscuits for relaxing with other guests. And the people - staff and guides (and even the locals!) are SO welcoming and friendly. I've been living in Southern Sweden for a year, 10 years ago, and it felt like Lapland is another country, even another world. I've met some great people during my stay, amongst staff/guides and other guests from different countries. Leaving the place was kinda heartbreaking ! I will definetly recommand the place ! (Already started!) :)

The service & facilities were excellent, the weekend flew by and the holiday achieved exactly what we wanted it do, that was to create a lasting memory to celebrate my Mother's 80th birthday, we are all still talking about it.

Lets get this straight. I HATE, snow, cold, wet and dark nights. Obviously a trip to Iceland in December is tailor made for me! However, my husband really wanted to go, plus 31st was my birthday. After a 2 hour delay due to fog we left the UK. We arrived at Keflavik Airport in the snow and dark. We got the bus to our hire car agency and were good to go. If you are young then Google Maps was what several people used but did find it a bit restricted at times. We got a Garmin from Thrifty with the car and once we realised that it had to be set to Icelandic ( in language) we were fine. If you set it to English it doesn't recognise anything you type in. Our first stay was at the Foss Hotel in Reykjavik. Great hotel. Love the heated bathroom floor. Easy enough to park on the street at a meter. NB; The parking meters sometimes either don't accept our credit cards, or the cold weather affects them. Our hotel reception gave us some change for the meter. The town is beautiful, recommend visiting the Cathederal, and going up the tower. Great views. The harbour. Amazing views. The Perlan Restaurant, amazing views, food and atmosphere. Thingviller National Park is stunning, as are Geyser,Gullfoss and many other waterfalls. The Blue Lagoon is a must. Iceland is an expensive country to visit, food and drink is almost twice the price of the UK but you can hunt out cheaper places. The Super Jeep tours, through rivers, over ice fields, on beaches etc were great fun. Highly recommend this country.

We had a brilliant time in Swedish Lapland! Mikko and the team at the Mattarahkka Northern Lights Lodge were absolutely wonderful, and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. They even arranged a spectacular showing of the Aurora on New Year's Eve ;). The husky sledding with Ylva was wonderful, snowmobiling fantastic, and the visit to the Ice Hotel was not to be missed. Thank you all so much.

We got what we expected from the holiday despite the weather! Sigga was excellent as was Hillmar. We had particularly good value for money judging by what others had paid during conversations with guests from other companies.

Absolutely amazing holiday, thank you very much to everyone involved. The planning, booking & organisation process was very organised and proceeded smoothly & Mina, Dick and the team at the Mountain Lodge were fantastic. Extremely friendly, helpful & fun. We thoroughly enjoyed all the planned activities, particularly the photography experience, and the holiday was topped off with an amazing display of the aurora on New Years Eve.

Everything about the short break was fabulous apart from a couple of things that were out of your control. As you are aware the Mattarahkka Lodge is a family run enterprise and the did everything for us to make it work. Bot my wife and I are 79 years old and my wife is partially disabled yet that did not effect our enjoyment of the weekend. Whenever we needed to get dressed in the Arctic gear there was someone to help. There was always 2 big burly men available to lift my wife onto and off the Skidoo, the dog sled and into and out of the minibus. Altogether a great weekend. 2 minor faults that were outside of your control. Kiruna Airport is a small airport only receiving and despatching 4 flights per day. as our aircraft arrived early there was no one to meet us. The problem was that the airport was completely deserted 10 minutes after we had got our baggage.Absolutely no member of the airport staff were available. After a few minutes I managed to find a a car hire rep in a locked office who rang the lodge for us. No problem as they sent a taxi for us within 10 minutes. (these things happen and was easily resolved) the other down side was that you have to check out between 10 and 11 ( quite normal ) Their minibus took us to the airport. Unfortunately we had a four and a half hour wait in the departure hall. No food or drinks were available, not even a vending machine!. Nothing was available until you had passed through security twenty minutes before take off. As I said both of these were outside the control of weekend Ala cart or the lodge. we are well seasoned travellers so it did not faze usand Sue Wood. and did not detract from a great weekend. Derek

everything went to plan, staff (drivers, mountain lodge staff and owner) were all lovely, but professional at the same time. good, diverse itinerary staff were accommodating with any deviations requested (e.g. with food) we were very lucky to see a great aurora on new year's eve Some suggested improvements: better pillows in the rooms (they were small and unsubstantial), there was no new years eve plan arranged by the hotel (even music), other than a glass of prosecco with dinner), other similar trips do make more of new years eve. we were fortunate that we had the aurora.

We had an excellent short break in Iceland. Everything was really well organised and all went smoothly. Our guides, Orney and Magnus, from Southcoast adventures were friendly, knowledgable and good company. The time sped by in their capable hands. Sadly we did not get to see the Northern lights but the trip has opened our eyes to the beauties of Iceland and we would love to return someday.
