“We purchased Repute oak fully finished doors. Great price and delivered on time. They are good quality inc fixings and now installed they do look great. However, there is a health warning that is not apparent from the online blurb. They are NOT at DIY job. There is a fair amount of finishing ie routing that needs to be carried out by a professional. Our chippie actually sent them to a joinery shop to make sure they were finished correctly at some extra cost. I think that should really be more apparent up front”

Hi James, Thank you for taking the time to write your review! We're sorry you may have been under the impression that the doors were a DIY kit. We would always advise our customers to have a professional builder or carpenter to install their doors, as the shootbolts need to be routed out for. This can easily be done on site by a tradesman though, and doesn't require the doors to be sent off to a workshop. “I have just bought 2 sets of timber french doors for a local project from Aspire. The doors were delivered on time and are extremely well made and very sturdy. The associated furniture which was included in sale is of high quality and it was great to have fixing kits, choice of trickle vent colours etc included. Overall I am extremely impressed and highly recommend.”

“I don't normally write company reviews but Aspire were so helpful I feel compelled to. I was let down by another door supplier and called them on a Tuesday, requiring doors delivered by Friday as that was the last day that my fitters were available. Initially I was told that they could not deliver before late Friday, but then moved deliveries around so that ours were dropped off on Thursday evening. Great service and really grateful.”

“We actually visited the Aspire showroom as we wanted to see the quality of the doors before purchasing, the staff were very helpful and there was quite a few displays on show. Ordered our internal wooden 3 door bifolds a few weeks later, they arrived quickly - the delivery guy was very friendly and called ahead to arrange a suitable timeslot. I am a competent DIYer but asked a builder friend to install the doors, I am glad I did because, IMO - the instructions are not particularly easy to follow and getting everything exactly level and precise is not a simple task. The builder completed the job in about 7 hours but there were some tricky bits. 1. The inside measurement of the frame was not clear on the instructions, he basically measured the doors and added about 5-7mm extra between each gap - so our 3 door bifolds had 4 gaps between the doors so the internal frame size was 3 doors + 4 gaps (5-7mm) each. 2. Not clear how/where to screw the frame to the wall - usually you would need a few screws on each side of the frame width (not just one down the middle) so it does not warp. We decided to do this even though the screws are visible. 3. For a 3 door internal bifold door you should purchase 2 floor bolts. 4. The door locking mechanism/handle is magnetic and works really well. Be careful when drilling the barrel hole, there is not much room for error as the barrel lock is almost the same width as the door. After completing the job we noticed one of the doors was a different shade to the other 2, we emailed pictures to Aspire and they handled our concern brilliantly. Aspire did not hesitate to replace the different shaded door, even though the door was in the same batch as the other two. Aspire showed us how to get the batch numbers of our doors, they then called their warehouse and told to dispatch a new door from the same batch and make sure it was the lightest colour shade. New door arrived very promptly by the same friendly driver, we replaced the door today and are now waiting for Aspire to pick up the old door. The bi-folds looks fantastic, we shopped around quite a bit and these were the cheapest doors we could find. But they look and feel like they are worth 3 times the cost. I recommend Aspire for two reasons: 1. Quality of the doors 2. Incredible customer service We do not usually leave reviews but in this case we were so impressed with the way Aspire handled our complaint that felt compelled to share this.”

Just to address the small concerns you raised: 1. The key frame measurements for assembling the set are the outer frame dimensions, which are detailed on page 5 of the instructions. 2. Page 7 of the installation instructions shows you how to screw the frame to the wall with fixings 450mm apart along the frame jamb. 3. 3 door internal bifolds only require 1 shootbolt, providing they're fitted in the correct position as outlined in the instructions on page 8. “The doors arrived on the day as agreed and I installed them over 2 nights. Very pleased with the quality and fit although the universal fitting instructions can be confusing - would recommend throwing away any pages that don't apply to your doors before you start installation. However I would not hesitate to recommend these good value doors to anybody.”

“Instructions very poor the 3 door with 2133 opening has considerable gaps either side when fitted and they are set up right plumbed levelled and squared,no trims to finish off a very poor quality product which im thinking of taking out and replacing with a better system”

Hi there, We're very sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your product. Our team member Izzy had a phone conversation with you yesterday clarifying some information about a required drill bit size, but this was the first we'd heard of any problem or dissatisfaction with the product. When installed correctly, there should be no considerable gaps inside the frame work. Regarding your concerns about trims, this product does not come with architrave or skirting, nor is it advertised as doing so. Architrave and skirting aren't part of bifolding doors, and are optional additions that are down to the end customer to source and fit. Having now called you to discuss the issue, you mentioned that you should probably have bought external bifolds for your project instead. Internal bifolds are simply room dividers, and cannot be expected to have the same sealing and sound proofing properties as external sets. While we welcome feedback in all forms, we feel it is unfair to rate an internal bifold as 1 star against your expectations that required an external set. All the best, The Aspire team

“The doors look great and work well and, with the excellent instructions, are easy to fit for two skilled people. However I felt they only merited 3 stars as the glazing units are permanently housed without glazing beads and should a double glazing unit fail it would be very difficult to replace.”

With regards to the the glazing, the doors that you purchased are cassette construction which means that the doors are built around the glazing, omitting the need for beading. In the unlikely event that the glazing fails, you can simply purchase a replacement panel direct from us. This works out quicker, cheaper and neater than trying to have a custom replacement glass unit installed into an existing door. “Good product (Vision) and very happy with the end result. It's not suitable for the amateur to install but my joiner was impressed with the product and did it all in a couple of days. There were enough spare parts to provide door stops which would be a worthwhile addition for future improvements. Good quality hardware and excellent customer service in terms of original delivery and extras that I requested. Happy to recommend!”
