“I ordered 3 small pieces of timber on the internet three days later I called to collect .I was surprised to find I could not park near the shop and then had to go into the yard to get I asked one worker where to go he said rather sternly surely they have just told down there.I managed to find the hut and the gentleman there could see I am disabled and got the timber and carried it to be cut.He cut the timber for me asked me if he could load it for me I had to go and get my car come into the yard then he kindly loaded my car but then I still had to go back to the shop to hand in my note then walk back to the car.I would have thought when you order over the internet then phone to get a collection date the order being a small one should have been ready to collect from the shop.”

“I made an on-line order on the 26th April 2016, for some decking which was shown to have a 3-5 days delivery time frame next to its description. After three days I had to ring to find out when I would be getting a delivery slot as no one had contacted me, only to be told that the earliest date that they would have the decking in stock would be the 6th May - which is 8 working days, I still haven't been given a delivery slot. If I had been told right from the start that it would be so long, I would have had done one of two things - either planned the work that I had to do differently or purchased the decking from somewhere else!”

“Only downside was that the driver was not given the instruction to ring one hour before delivery,that put me on the back foot a bit as I wasn't in when the delivery arrived.Having said that the driver was helpful & assisted with getting the timber round the back of the house & not leaving it at the end of the drive.”

“Order was refunded as goods required were discontinued , it was not the fault of Laver however as they purchase the items from a supplier who had not informed them the goods had been continued which caused delay and inconvenience to both parties. Briony and Heather at Lavers were most helpful and obliging.”

“Ordered £450 worth of multiple Premium grade MDF sheet weighing 675kg it total and it didn't even arrive on a pallet. Had to scrabble round trying to find timbers to offload onto. Several edges of MDF badly scuffed and some smashed over up to 100mm. Goods arrived arrived promptly so shame really.”

“Took a long time for the item to arrive in stock (about 2 weeks) despite me ordering on the basis that it would arrive within a few days. Good job I wasn't in a rush ! Nevertheless very helpful staff when collecting from Oldbury, and good quality product at a very competitive price”

“Compared to a local builders merchants the price was good.The website is well designed and it was easy to find what I wanted. I was phoned the day after placing the order online to arrange a delivery day. All good so far. At 4.30 on delivery day it was looking like a no show so I phoned the depot. Driver delayed so was now due to be delivered the day after. What time I asked. Nobody knew, call in the morning. So I did and still no information. Eventually delivered around lunchtime. It took a long time to unload because other customers wood was on top and had to be moved off first. The wood I got was in good condition but a lot longer than ordered (4.8m vs 1.8m) .... more wood for the same price, but heavier lifting and extra cutting for me. Arnold Laver, if you seriously want 5* reviews then you need to sort your communication and procedures out - within your own team and with the customer. I wasn't told about the delay. Nobody checked with me if longer lengths were ok. The drivers schedule and whoever loaded up clearly didn't match. The depot office had no idea about delivery schedules. Everyone was friendly, trying to be helpful but in this instance your operation proved to be disorganised.”
