The service I received was nothing short of excellent. I placed order online and then dealt with local depot in Hull. The staff were very helpfull and even added to my order the day before delivery in Easter week. Will definitely use again.

Clear and easy to use website - excellent pricing - easy order placement with follow up call on confirmation of order. Confirmed and agreed a delivery date and delivery on time as as expected. Simple and efficient!!

having ordered after 6pm on the 8th I expected delivery sooner than the 16th. The delivery note had the wrong postcode for my address and the mobile telephone was too small print for me to read easily and was incorrect. I did not receive a phone call within the 2 days and had to ring up myself which I will be charged for. I was informed the driver would ring to give me an more accurate time of delivery but the mobile number was wrong and the land line was not on the delivery note

I ordered timber during the weekend on line for collection at Reading and paid using a credit card. I was phoned on the following Monday to say the timber I ordered was not in stock and would not be available for 3 weeks. I cancelled the order and hope that I have not been charged. Good marks for a prompt phone call, poor marks for advertising timber not in stock.

Apologies that the timber you required wasn't in stock, but stock levels at individual depots fluctuate and are not directly linked to the website. Should an item be out of stock, we endeavour to offer an appropriate replacement if acceptable.

First time I have ordered timber online and Lavers made it a great experience, even helping me out of a snag when I mis-ordered the wrong size. Its extra customer care like that which makes the difference for me. My order was delivered on the day no problem. Very happy. Thanks.

Very good value compared to other quotes I had received online. Found collecting the order at the depot slightly confusing, but I think it wasn't helped by the fact that I turned up at closing time, I think I must have got the wrong time on the phone. Was impressed that my order was still processed and cut to size and brought to my car, even though the guys were clearly about to go home though.

I am still awaiting my delivery from Laver. I am sure when the products arrive they will be good and the price was very good compared to other places online. However I did have some issues with delivery. Delivery was arranged for a week ago, the driver arrived and to be fair did have to wait 20 minutes as my wife had to take my little boy to the doctors last minute, however when she got home the driver refused to offload the truck as he said it "wasn't his job to unload" and refused to, he then said he would'nt let my wife unload. I had to phone to rearrange and the lady I spoke to was very friendly and kindly rearranged and said it says in the small print online that they don't unload however it actually states: "We may also require assistance, at the time of delivery, to off-load your products, due to the size and or weight of the goods". It was timber decking I ordered so not unusually heavy. Assistance to me means they do some unloading rather than its not their job! The crazy thing is I understand the driver had to drive to a depot an hour away and unload there to finish the other deliveries. So a little ridiculous overall I feel. A let down on what otherwise has been a good company to deal with.

Thanks for your review. We apologise for the issues you had with unloading. The driver is obliged to assist with unloading, but not unload sizeable or weighty items single-handedly, and he made a judgement call by not allowing your wife to unload the deck boards on her own or assist the driver in doing so, as your wife could have injured herself. However, he should not have said that it "wasn't his job to unload", rather that it is his job to unload goods off the wagon with appropriate assistance. We hope that the re-delivery goes smoothly.

Excellent price, excellent correspondants , excellent delivery but unfortunately delivered the wrong product, the wood was smaller than described. I used it because I had to but was a little disappointed as this wasn't what I ordered.

Thanks for your review. It's possible that the wood you ordered had nominal rather than finished dimensions and the size discrepancy was due to finishing. It's also possible that we tried to supply you with the nearest alternative product if your ordered item was out of stock. Either way, please accept our apologies that the wood wasn't what you'd hoped for.

Ordered on- line for collection. Laver called same day to confirm ready for collection next day. Helpful staff on site cut longer pieces to fit car and helped me load. Excellent service

Everything I ordered was unavailable for at least six weeks. How can I rate as anything but very poor. The only good thing was the speed I was informed about the unavailability with an apologetic phone call on Monday morning, BUT no follow up email to confirm the order has been cancelled. Peter Olley

We apologise for the fact that your ordered items were unavailable for six weeks but this was beyond our control and as a result of demand vastly outstripping supply. We also apologise for the fact that your order cancellation was not confirmed via email afterwards. We will look into this.

Purchased some timber online, later told that it is not available and was offered longer length that I have to cut myself. Tried to ring customer service but the phone was cut several times. Very disappointed. Wish I had never dealt with Laver at all!

Very poor service! Order made online on Saturday, 1st March. Nothing had arrived by the following Friday so rang local depot first thing to find out what was happening. Girl who answered could not trace order and had to promise to ring back. Eventually the order was found, and a promise of a delivery on the following Monday was made. I complained that 9 days was a very long time to wait but she claimed it was impossible to send before then, despite the fact that the ordered items are apparently in stock. No apology or explanation was offered. Waited in all day Monday with STILL no delivery. Rang again Tuesday morning and received timber that afternoon. Another day wasted. 10 days to receive stock timber and work arrangements seriously impaired. The common background noise from the Sheffield depot is giggling girls who are obviously not concentrating on their job. Extremely disappointed and tempted to go elsewhere next time I need an order.
