“They sent the wrong size, but Craig was helpful and sorted it out. I even got a refund. Only reason for 4 star is that I had to chase for the refund with a couple of emails”

“I arrived to pick up my order. I went to customer service they gave me a slip of paper and I was told to go to the yard and hand it to a workman, then when I received my goods I had to then go back to cs to book it out. I was stood outdoors for 45 mins in freezing temps whilst one of there workers went and searched for my goods, the weather was below zero so I was completely hacked off !”

Thank you for you review and feedback. We are aware that this is an issue for the general public especially, and we are endeavouring to improve our facilities. Given the weather conditions, you should have been offered a warm drink and advised to wait in the customer service area. We apologise for the fact that the process took 45 minutes but the depots are often busy and waiting times increase as a result. Again, we are working to improve this.

“Easy transaction, delivered well. My father - a retired cabinet maker/joiner stated that the wood was true and not unduly knotted. Very happy and fairly priced, just wish there was a closer Laver yard to reduce delivery costs, but it was still cheaper to import than pop 3 miles to Wickes.”

“The product is very good. However, their delivery service is very poor indeed. I would only buy from them again if I went to collect from one of their depots.”

Thank you for your review. We apologise for the delay in getting the doors delivered, but the doors had to come from XL Joinery's base in Batley, W Yorks. We had to wait for the stock from XL Joinery, transfer it between depots, and that took us into the Xmas period and the holiday shut-down. We despathched the doors to you as the depot re-opened. We hope to receive your custom again in future.

“I have given 4 stars for the order process and the condition of the goods when delivered. The online process was very good and easy to use. I was impressed when I received a call 10 minutes after making my online order to ask about delivery and when it was convenient. I opted for the next day and was told that someone would ring me in the morning to give me a delivery time. Sadly no one rang and I had to ring myself at lunchtime. I was told that the driver was "just about to ring me" I gave them my mobile number as I had to go out. No one rang either my home number or my mobile number, I was out for just under an hour and when I got back the timber sheets were leaning against my garage door. Luckily the weather was fine. I give 1 star for the after sales/delivery process and might now think twice about using Laver again.”

“This is my second order and the timber has been great quality - just what I wanted for a fence renovation job. Ordering online is good but if we had more contact about delivery times and if the order could be added to before delivery this would be even better.”

“I was really please after making my online order when I was contacted almost 10 minutes after completing the payment to arrange delivery so that I wouldn't be kept waiting over the Christmas Holidays. I was told that some would call me back the following morning to let me know what time the delivery would be. Well, no one called and just after lunch I rang Lavers. The person on the phone said "The driver is just going to ring you". I put the phone down and waited but no phone call came. I had to go out, Lavers had my mobile number to contact me. I was out for over an hour and on arriving home I found my goods on the drive propped up against my garage door. They had partially wrapped the boards in plastic but had there been heavy rain it would have been ruined. The initial contact was encouraging, the goods were in good order and the ordering service was faultless. I'll use Lavers again but will be wary of the delivery service.”

“Ordered some timber (probably on a Wednesday), requested it be delivered on Monday. On Thursday morning receive a voicemail saying that as some needs to be ordered in I won't receive in until the next Wednesday, which is Okay. At about 16:00 on that Wednesday however (having stayed at home all day for the delivery), I receive a call saying that I won't get until Thursday morning. Not so good.”

Thanks for your review. The depot fulfilling the order makes every effort to contact the buyer with a time and date for delivery. We are putting measures in place to improve this process within certain depots.
