“Hadn't ordered for a while but my sons wanted to order some stuff. Relatively small order with mostly drinks and snacks. It turned up in a really bad state, box ripped open and soaking with the driver saying he thought he got everything back in (turned out he didn't). Had a whole bottle of vinegar smashed inside and 3/4 bottle of coke gone, which explained the soaking box. Mailed the delivery firm, got an apology but told to take it up with approved food, but after mailing and waiting 5 days....no response from them at all about the delivery or the missing items.”

“The delivery is very good and for the weight of the parcel, it is fantastic. The only problem that I have withe them is that the prices seemed to have gone up in the last year or so on the whole, otherwise they would have five stars from me.”

“Some very decent bargains from time to time and always worth a check every week or so to see if there's something good. I do wish, though, that they would find a courier that isn't spectacularly useless.”

“Where do I begin! I made an order on Monday 16th September & was advised it would be delivered on Tuesday 17th. September Someone waited in all day & It didn’t arrive. Eventually it was reported that the carrier couldn’t find our address. This was very surprising as although we live in a rural area we have online carriers delivering daily. For example I ordered something from another company at the same time (16th September) as my Approved food order. It arrived promptly at the advised time within a 2 hour time slot on 17th September. After many complaints the delivery finally arrived on Saturday 21st September An order I made with Amazon on 21st September arrived on 22nd. Both my other deliveries were postage free whereas I had to pay for the one from Approved foods. Hence I won’t be using them again especially as I haven’t been offered an compensation even for the postage”

“I like the concept of not wasting food that is still perfectly good for consumption. However, my orders have twice had substandard items in. On one occasion l received two sealed packets that had been opened and were below weight. On another occasion the food was almost a year older than the date advertised and the packet was very battered and dirty. On each occasion Customer Services have refunded my money. However, I am now quite cautious about what I buy and whether it is likely it could have been tampered with.”
