Damaged a single bed, worth over £1500 and claimed it was already damaged and that they had told me this when they came across the damage - a complete lie. Contacted their claims team, waste of time, based on zero evidence they claimed bed had pre-existing damage. Also when I’ve tried to contact them on the phone they deliberately leave you holding so you end up hanging up. Absolute cowboys, so not use, do not trust their 5.0 rating on their own website.

Avoid this company. I had a horrible experience with them. They were 6 hours late, extremely rude and refused to take some of my belongings (which I had to leave behind). On top of this, they damaged my new house. The movers apologised on the day, but the company has refused to pay for the damages. This is not a removal company; it is just a website and a call centre. After you sign up, they subcontract to delivery drivers who carelessly chuck your moving list stuff (not even all the items) in and out of a van.

Our experience with AnyVan was so horrible it goes over the character limit to describe it in full in this review. TL;DR do not use them under any circumstance. We booked to move our belongings from London to Nottingham as we were moving house. When we booked, the quote showed clearly the direct route between our origin and destination and the time and mileage it would take, and that's what we paid for. On the day, we discovered that the van already had other people's belongings in it, which we were not warned about, and it was incredibly difficult to fit all of our stuff in the van, despite us providing an accurate inventory beforehand. The driver and helper did very little to move our belongings, we had to bring everything all the way out to the van and then they put it in the back. The only communication we had with the driver was "see you in Nottingham" just before they left. We were then dismayed to see that the van went in the completely opposite direction to our destination. The van proceeded to stop in multiple completely random locations - completely out of the way to Nottingham - for several hours at a time. We were following the online tracker and we were severely worried that we would never receive our belongings in our empty new home. We tried to contact the driver multiple times but he never responded - he didn't even answer the phone to the central AnyVan customer service when we raised an enquiry. The customer service themselves were very unfriendly and dismissive - even when the van tracker said our belongings would be delivered at 2am!! After chasing customer service and the driver for several hours, they eventually arrived 10 hours after they left our origin point (which should have been a 3.5 hour journey). We then saw that the van was crammed full of yet more people's belongings and we couldn't access our own things. The driver then proceeded to physically toss the other person's stuff out from the van onto the road, with no regard for the items whatsoever. This was astounding (photo attached). Despite our horrific experience and the incredible stress and anxiety - not to mention the abysmal level of service - AnyVan refused to provide any compensation or even apology for what happened on the moving day. All we have been offered is a measly £22 because the van managed to miss our collection window in the morning (which was 4 hours wide incidentally). Never, ever, ever trust your belongings to this service.

I chose AnyVan based on a mixture of price and reviews. The initial phase went well, I was contacted by Jason, and we spoke at length about what to expect and asked me to fill out the inventory list on-line. Based on the size of our property he estimated how many boxes we would need, and I bowed to his expertise. Communication continued to be good, and I was asked to review my inventory list, which I did, adding a couple of bits and paying the extra. The first thing that went wrong was when I noticed that wardrobe boxes had not been factored. I chatted on-line with a help agent who said I could add them, but it may affect the price, or the size of the van needed. On our inventory, I listed 3 x double and 1x single wardrobe. Surely this would indicate that we have clothes? I questioned this with the chat person, and he suggested I call Jason which I did to add these. If I had not noticed, what would have happened on the day, and would I have been charged extra as I forgot to add these? They are the experts here. On the day, the team arrived on time at 9am and I started to feel concerned as the first thing the team leader did was produce the inventory list and worked through the house to find all of the items. It seemed a little officious and I wondered what this might be leading to. Well, I was soon to find out! As we toured the house, he would clearly have seen the amount of things that needed moving, he did not mention this as being a problem at this stage. We had also been helpful and had pre-packed some of our things in crates, even though we were paying for the premium service of our things being packed by the AnyVan team. At around 11.15, when many of our items were on the van, I was informed that there was a problem, and we would need more boxes and would need to pay for them. I have to be honest, I got really stressed at this news and said I would speak to AnyVan. I got through to the call centre and spoke to a lady who was incredibly unhelpful and unsympathetic to my plight and repeated over and over that the service was inventory based. Well, I had completed the inventory, and it seems that the tactic is to quote low and add extras on the day. The standpoint seems to have been that we would not have anything in cupboards or under beds. Jason was the person who ordered the quantity of boxes, not me. I really was stressed, and we were wasting time, so I reluctantly agreed to pay, and that payment was made for an extra £142.02 at 12.05. Things got far worse. At around 2pm I was informed there was a problem and this time it was much bigger! I was again subjected to the dance of you need more boxes and this time was presented with a bill of an extra £585.02 plus £140 for more boxes. I insisted that he confirmed that this would be the final price, he agreed it would be and I made him walk around my property to ensure that he meant it this time. The vans were not sufficient in size to pack comfortably, so the packing took much longer than expected, delaying our exit. Our plan was to clean our old property that late afternoon/evening in preparation for handing the property back. Instead, we had to come back on Sunday, wasting valuable time that could have been spend sorting out our new house. The team had to leave some items behind as they could not fit in on the van (they collected the next day, left in our alley and garden shed) and when we did a final sweep of the house before we left, we saw that some cupboards had only been partially emptied, so we had to fit this in our car The team could also have shown more care when lifting items down the stairs, they left several scuff lines down the stair walls. The delivery day went better (I was fearful there would be more extra charges), but the issue was that most of the day it was a team of just 2 men, so the unloading took a very long time, not leaving our new house until approximately 6pm. As stated at the start, the team worked very hard, and I recognised that with a generous tip for their hard work alone. Moving is meant to be one of life’s great stressors, well this was elevated to a whole new level by Any Van. I feel exploited, ripped off and 'played'. I contacted Any Van before writing this review and got the response that is inventory based, extra charges on the day are non refundable and tough basically! I then pushed back and they have subsequently refused to reply to any correspondence. We have moved several times and although it is always a bit stressy, this was just awful. We would never use or recommend AnyVan every again and would urge anyone reading this to think carefully before using any inventory based service based on our truly appalling experience.

DO NOT USE. Have still not picked up item, 2 days later, despite many phone calls. Original driver lied about where he was and when he was there (we have phone records and eye witness to prove this), company then lied about what the driver said. HORRENDOUS. Awful customer service and can’t actually do what they promise.

A very disappointing stressful experience. Took 12 hours for my belongings to reach their destination. At 9pm at night they finally reached the destination. The team who loaded the van, were not the same team unloading. So they had no idea of the items they had in the van. Heavy items were packed on top of fragile boxes. My sofa was laid on the floor upside down and on top of the base heavy boxes were placed, which ripped my sofa. Broken and damaged items in the storage unit when I unpacked it. And no assistance when I was asked to send photos to customer service. Would not use again!

I cannot begin to describe the total disaster that was AnyVan! I paid almost £1,100 to move a one bed flat from East London to Surrey. Significantly more than other quotes I had received, but felt assured by the pack and move service I completed the list of items - to include the usual, bed, sofa etc - and 10 boxes - that I had packed myself. Should also note - I had packed majority of the contents myself and labelled etc. So - day of move - 2 guys show up, survey the flat and say that they are only going to take the furniture that I had ticked (the big stuff) and would only take boxes they pack - unless I pad more money of course!! Long story short - they left all of my clothes, even my bedding (thrown on the floor). They even emptied out a garden box and just took the empty box, leaving contents outside. An absolute disgrace that made an already stressful situation, a total nightmare. Note: I have moved several times and never experienced anything like this. I called customer service and got nowhere. Long story short(er) - I have had to pay for another van to collect my stuff and highly urge others to avoid! Well and truly fleeced.

Shocking company. Van booked for 9am to 10am, nobody turned up. Rang the company who said they would try and get another driver as the first one had cancelled. After several phone calls nobody turned up, no phone calls from AnyVan to explain anything. We ended up telling them to refund our money and we ordered a self drive van to sort it ourselves. Do not use this company.

I recently had the misfortune of using Anyvan for a moving job, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. Firstly, they quoted me one price, but upon completion, they charged significantly more without any valid explanation. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic. Secondly, their disregard for punctuality is astounding. The movers arrived almost six hours late, causing a cascade of scheduling issues and inconvenience. To add insult to injury, the driver threatened to abandon the job unless I paid additional fees on the spot, creating an incredibly stressful situation. This lack of professionalism and customer care is unacceptable. Overall, I would strongly advise against using Anyvan for any moving needs unless you enjoy unnecessary stress, unexpected charges, and poor service.

Shockingly horrid service from AnyVan! Our furniture were damaged and stained after the move. The mattress was moved without a mattress cover, which AnyVan had assured us would be provided. The mattress ended up being super dusty with stains and marks all over them. Our pristine bedframe and study table also suffered deep scratches on them with paint peeling off. We have video footage of them transporting our furniture without properly securing them, which likely contributed to the damages during the move. We had subsequently left feedback to AnyVan but they ghosted us. This is highly unacceptable for any moving company, and to prevent others from suffering the same bad experience, I would caution everyone to steer clear of this company!

I booked AnyVan October 2017 for £200.00 as I needed to move from Ilford to Epsom. The staff who booked the journey were friendly and British as in English indegineous, UK born. I was asked what needed moving in terms of number of items boxes etc. I couldn't give an exact figure as I had not yet began unpacking so gave them a rough guide. On the day in question two eastern European drivers turned up and refused to take the stuff saying it was too much showing me a piece of paper which stayed one bed, a bag of clothes and a couple of boxes in total about 6 items. I pointed out that I never said I would be moving a bed and there was no way that my wife and I would simply have a bag of clothes. They said I would have to pay extra despite me saying that the information on that piece of paper was wrong even offering to help them load the stuff on the lorry myself. My wife and I were living in a single room and had already packed everything so it would not have taken long to load the lorry even if I didn't help them. They refused to budge saying they were leaving. I refused to let them leave as we had paid them so called the police who asked them why they couldn't just move our stuff and raise any issues with their company. They then received a call from a supervisor telling them to leave straight away. I told them if they left they would not get paid and that I would make a claim with my bank for the return of the money on the basis that I paid for a service but never received it. The money was put back in my account within a few days meaning the drivers did not get paid. I also reported them to immigration enforcement as I suspected they were illegal immigrants with no right to work or live in the UK. They wanted to rip me off by charging me extra money. In the end I had to pay a man with a van privately to get my stuff moved for £180.00. The staff on the phone were friendly enough but their drivers seem to be self employed contractors and foreigners rather than a British born, white, Asian or black person. AnyVan should employ drivers directly rather than rely on international cheap labourers. If there was an option to leave zero stars I would have done that. As I had got my money back through my bank I did not think of making a formal complaint but did leave a negative review on google reviews. I am not against foreigners as I am married to an Indian woman myself as well as being a British Pakistani myself so am truly international.

We were extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by Anyvan during my recent relocation. The experience we encountered was marked by numerous instances of poor communication, unprofessional conduct, and disrespect, which greatly inconvenienced me and my friend. Firstly, the driver arrived at the flat early, even though we confirmed the collection time different by their colleagues. Due to this early arrival, we were compelled to change our entire plan, including altering our train ticket to London. Moreover, the train was delayed, and I promptly informed Anyvan about the situation. I also texted the driver to inform him of our slight delay. The company assured me that they would relay this information to the driver, advising him not to rush or arrive early. Initially, everything seemed to be understood by all parties. However, upon reaching the destination, the driver called me and stated that he could not wait for more than 10 minutes, despite my timely arrival (likely, he waited for no more than 5 minutes). I attempted to explain that I was present and only 2 minutes away. While trying to obtain the keys for the flat, I received a call from someone at Anyvan who complained about our delay. Her behavior was appalling. She accused me of claiming to be present when I was not, instead of attempting to understand the situation. We were indeed present but were juggling multiple tasks, including locating the building, obtaining keys from the agent, and carrying our luggage simultaneously. Shortly after, my friend encountered the driver outside the building and was met with disrespectful behavior. He remarked, "Finally, you're here. I've been waiting for you. I don't have keys to the car park," in a rude manner. It was then apparent that the van needed access to the car park. Subsequently, the driver called the company and complained that the building only had two floors (from ground to second floor), but he could only enter from floor -1, where the car park was located. We were unaware of this detail, as it was our first day in the area. Despite the presence of an elevator, the company unjustly charged us an additional £48 for the additional floor, which was not our fault and did not impact the driver's task because we paid 3 floor fee (from ground floor to second floor) but we have only 2 floor (ground floor and second floor) which makes the same effort and time for the driver with additional -1 floor. Although we assisted the driver in carrying numerous boxes, despite our health issues, we were subjected to disrespectful behavior when we were unable to carry three heavy bags. Despite our efforts to resolve this matter amicably, we have encountered further obstacles in obtaining a satisfactory resolution. It is deeply disheartening to witness such blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and basic decency from a company of your stature. I cannot understand why we were charged an additional £48 and why we were treated so disrespectfully. Unfortunately we have not yet received what we deserve. We were trying to get our money but now they are claiming that they charged us for the delay. I am deeply disappointed by the unsympathetic behavior displayed by everyone in this company. They made an already challenging journey even more stressful. I refuse to accept such blatant disrespect towards customer satisfaction and basic courtesy and we will try to find another solution as they have not been helpful and understanding.

Moving home, we looked around and considered hiring a man and a van for a time-based payment. However, a salesman on the phone at AnyVan said that with what we had to move, it would take all day. This scared us into thinking it would cost us a fortune and that it was a better choice to go with AnyVan because they would complete the job and were insured. However, it only took the cowboys they sent one hour in total, and it clearly shows with all the damage they caused to the new house and the items being moved. We no longer have an American fridge freezer, which stores medication, and they destroyed our washing machine. They also just dumped everything in the living room when we paid for room-to-room service. Just to illustrate how clearly the drivers they sent had no common sense, they placed our microwave face down with the door down, cracking the glass front. The drivers were rude, aggressive, and their language was disgusting. I contacted AnyVan and supplied them with a mass of photos. AnyVan refunded 25% of the overall charge, but the claim department was useless, to say the least. They shared my details without my permission and lied to me regarding an emergency payment. There is no such thing; it was just the damage payment settlement because their basic cover only includes fire and theft. I mean, who is going to pull over a moving van and rob furniture? This whole company is a joke; stay away from them for moving home. I think many of the good reviews they have are from staff members because it seems like someone has tainted their social media accounts. The reviews on there are similar to mine regarding damage, lack of contact, and only paying out £100 for an American fridge freezer. How can anyone at AnyVan sleep at night knowing they are working for what feels like a bunch of cowboys? No vetting was done on the drivers, and there were no CRB checks when moving children's rooms; that's dangerous

HORRENDOUS COMPANY! I had gone through the whole phone process and walk around of what I needed moving. I was quoted and paid the amount asked and I didn’t use their ultimate service as there were only a couple items I wanted extra protection for which I paid extra to have these special items packed and protected by them (custom made desk and artwork). On the day of moving the team that turned up instantly charged me an extra £1000 saying I was over my quota and I had to pay it there and then or I wouldn’t have my belongings moved (keeping in mind only 1 can was actually packed at this point). The team they sent me didn’t speak a word of English so I couldn’t even communicate what I wanted to and when I told them to speak to my sales consultant at Anyvan they didn’t know who I was on about. I called my sales consultant and he said that’s wrong we’ll sort out compensation for you. I was assured weeks before that they would protect my carpets as I was leaving rented property and they walked mud all into the house. My home was loaded onto 2luton vans for delivery the following day. The next day 1 van arrived and I was informed the other had broken down somewhere in Birmingham and would be with me later. The second van that turned up around 1700 was a totally different van and the second delivery had now actually been split into 2 deliveries and the last delivery didn’t show up until 2200 that night by which point I couldn’t unpack anything as I was exhausted myself from a 6hour drive the day before from Hampshire to Wakefield and didn’t get to bed until 2am. When communicating with the removal teams boss by phone he was very dismissive and argumentative. The precious items I paid extra for to be packaged by them turned up with one pathetic layer of MY own bubble wrap to one of my £990 pieces of artwork was damaged. When I went through Anyvan’s claim team they took weeks to investigate, their communication with me was extremely poor and I had to chase them for updates and when they did get back to me, despite them saying they acknowledge the damages were fresh they claim that they probably got damaged when I unpackaged it and they would offer me £175 in total for damages to two pieces of artwork and a custom made £4500 desk! An absolute AWFUL company in the way they have treated myself and my father and if this is how they treat disabled people then I’d hate to see how they treat able bodied persons! Calling me a liar and offering an insulting amount of compensation to my precious items even after I said I didn’t want to pursue other items that got damaged, only the items that could not be replaced! PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY because for what I ended up paying I could have paid for a well known national moving company; they’re clearly out to save themselves money and obviously don’t care at all about the customers belongings. I’ve not been this upset and insulted ever after paying for a service let alone to be called a liar. If I wanted my items to be dropped kicked into the back of a Mercedes sprinter I’d have made the effort with my good leg to do it myself! I have asked them for the CEO’ contact details and they have refused. I asked them to speak to a manager on numerous occasions and they refused. I WILL be taking my case further as far as it will go.
