“I think the overall experience with Allcott is above average. I got speedy communication with Karen for the booking. Then, I received the survey report out of my expectation on the 2nd day after the inspection after Paul Barrett did a thorough inspection of the property. He took abundant photos of the property during inspection and pinpointed every single defective area calling for my attention and providing anticipated costs for those works required. Although the survey report is composed of low-resolution photos, they replenish all high-resolution photos as per my request quickly. These photos are very useful for me to explain the current conditions of the property to the vendor and provide strong evidence for price renegotiation. Timothy is considerate about his concession offer. Good teamwork is clearly seen.👍”

“I recently engaged Allcott’s for an L3 building survey, and I must commend the surveyor assigned to my property, Paul C. His professionalism, expertise, and dedication were immediately evident. Paul C not only conducted a thorough examination of the property but also identified a significant issue. This ultimately led to the collapse of the transaction, saving me tens of thousands of pounds in potential repair costs. His detailed report, along with his clear explanations, made the risks and issues very apparent. Paul C went above and beyond by making himself available for several telephone calls, always taking the time to address any questions or concerns I had. Even while he was undertaking the survey, he was kind enough to make time to discuss some of the initial findings with me. This level of customer service and communication was truly appreciated. However, while I was thoroughly impressed with Paul C’s work, I did find the pricing practices of the firm to be somewhat frustrating. Despite providing all the necessary details upfront, the firm altered the pricing several times, which detracted from an otherwise smooth experience. In summary, Paul C’s exceptional work and willingness to engage with me throughout the process made a difficult situation much easier to navigate. I would highly recommend him for anyone in need of a thorough and reliable building survey. That said, the firm could improve its pricing transparency to match the high level of service provided by their surveyors.”

“We received a well laid out surveyors report within a week for our potential property purchase. The only slight complaint, if I could even call it that, was when the windows were being tested to see if they functioned properly. It was reported that due to something being on the sill, it couldn't be tested! I realise that big things cannot be moved, but we were talking about a vase! Apart from that. all was good.”

“As I've never had a to get a survey done before it was very interesting to see what points were raised and even though they might only be small issues, they can develop into bigger ones that cause major problems at a later date. I have read the report that was done on the property and it seemed very in depth and gave some good points to look out for.”

“I chose Allcott cos of the following reasons. 1. During the pre engagement phase when I was narrowing down to which surveyor I would select, I received a response, from one of the Partners. For me that demonstrated that they took every enquiry seriously. 2. This prompt attention to every enquiry has been sustained. At anytime, you ask, you get a response within a few minutes or within a few hours. Most reassuring. At least you know where you are. 3. Cost was reasonable compared to other surveyors 4. They were able to demonstrate that their surveyors had the required accreditations. 5. I was especially concerned about the safety of the structure of the building, as it was an older building, and they seemed to, from their related business, have a focus on this. Survey - level 3 was booked, paid for, and actually performed the survey, about a week before the scheduled date due to an opportunity which arose in their calendar. From the booking date to the survey date was just under a month, as it does seem that surveyors are quite busy - I wonder why, thought there was a lull in house buying due to high mortgage interest rates? I received the electronic copy of the survey about a week after, and I am satisfied that it contained enough information about most areas of concern, and it had very specific guidance which I needed to pass on to our solicitors. I am sure, that the layout of the document could be improved to make it even easier to understand, but I'd score the report 7 out of 10. Some of the language was a bit tough to decipher - things like fenestration instead of window opening - thank God I did French for O levels !. But its like everything in life, there should always be room for improvement. If I had to do a survey again, anywhere which was in an area which Allcott was able to cover, I would certainly consider Allcot Associates. Definitely recommended by me, on an objective basis of a service which they delivered as expected, not much to complain about, unless I was being nit pickery...”
