My provisional driver son was given his own insurance to drive his sisters car as a learner- they were aware that her policy was a Smartbox policy - when I had cause to phone and discuss her renewal in which I mentioned my son had a learner policy also with the car- I was told that should nt have happened. They asked if I had made flux aware that my daughter had a Smartbox policy on the car when I was arranging my sons insurance- I had. So they then took their time going through our old phone conversations to check if I had been lying or not- which I had nt- so then apologised for their ‘mistake’ and blamed themselves and said the clerk should not have sold me the policy and promptly cancelled my son’s insurance offering me a full refund( how good of them!) saying the only way around was to have my daughter on a normal full insurance so my son could then learn in her car. This was going to add over £1400 to the cost of her renewal policy. It was nt my mistake. They should have honoured the insurance they agreed to for my son with the information I correctly gave them at the time. Very disappointed. And a 17 yr old who now has no car to learn in.

Took learner insurance out for my son and paid up front. I was advised i would get back the difference if he passed before 8 months. He passed at 3 months and out of £352 i got £39 back as they 'take 60% back plus an admin fee'. This was NOT advised to me up front despite checking several times with them that i would get money back, and the only reason i paid up front. Apparently its in the terms, however this was never explained to me, just that i would DEFINITLEY get the difference back, minus a £39 admin fee. I will never use this company again.

AVOID AVOID Put claim in last November was asked to send photos of my motorhome where it was damaged. It is now nearly end of February and still no further on. Adrian flux sends you to another agent AXA that asks for photos and doesn't respond to any emails and when they do they say we haven't received photos. When told they had received them. Absolutely discusting firm STAY CLEAR OF THEM

Was given a quotation fairly cheap for a new car, transferring from a camper van insurance, which was fairly decent. When I rang to take it out a few days later that policy was no longer available and given a new quotation of nearly £250 more. I stupidly took out that insurance as needed it that day. I then searched other insurance quotations and found one surprisingly £250 cheaper. I rang these straight back to cancel and was charged a cancellation fee and admin fees at extortionate amount, which was ridiculous for being insured for less than an hour. I had had years of insuring my camper through these and never any problem until this point. Would not use again.

One does not get a proper online quote, all is only verbal and lost if you need to call them back. The 1st time I spoken to them the man was very pleasant, he told me he would call me back on Monday but there was no call and when I called them back they had no records of the quote I was given and the lady was obviously reading her telephone instructions, not friendly and too fast speaking. So I told her and she continuously repeated she did not knew what I meant. What I mean dear is that you give verbal quotes with no follow up so one wonders about trusting you.

As per a lot of other reviews.. awful company, absolute shysters. Paid for an entire year's cover up front. they then cancelled the policy without warning (so I was actually driving abroad without insurance at the time) with 5 months left on it, due to an error their end. Then offered me a 'discount' on taking out a new policy. Not a shred of common sense or decency. Avoid them like the plague

Auto renewed after a 30-minute call earlier in the year explaining exactly why I would NEVER choose them again and that I did not want to auto-renew. They are absolute money grabbers, with no idea what they are doing, christ knows how they are still in business...

Absolutely awful service - appalling! I paid for a full years car insurance for my daughter with Adrian flux, not long after, she had a small accident. They messed her about for 8 weeks, giving her the run around as to whether or not they’d fix her car… then.. agreed to do it.. then decided they wasn’t doing it after all!!! They tried to say her car was a ‘right off’ because it had a smashed head light & few dents… and refused to fix it.. this was absolutely outrageous service & we are seeking legal help and contacting insurers ombudsman

I contacted them to get car insurance because on their website they advertise that they can insure people with no driving history in the UK. I relocated back to the UK after 22 years and have no NCB. I made this very clear to them in the first phonecall. They said they were not able to insure me. The next day they called me and said they could insure me so I went ahead and purchased insurance. A month later I received a letter asking for documentation for proof of NCB in the USA. I never said I could provide this because I knew I couldn't! I contacted them straight away and they said they would listen to the two quote phonecall recordings and call me back. I didn't hear back from them so I called again later in the day and was told they are still waiting to listen to the recorded phonecalls. A week later still no response. I called them today and spoke to a very rude person called Jane. SHe said that Emma had called me twice on a landline and mobile number but hadn't left a message. After yelling at me and basically saying I was a liar she said she would email me transcripts of both phonecalls. I didn't receive them so I called back about ten minutes later and spoke to Dan. He said they do not transcribe phonecalls they only send the recordings to customers. I told him that Jane has just told me she was reading from a transcribed phone call when I was given my quote. He said that they do not have one .So basically Jane lied to me throughout the phonecall today and then put notes in my file with additional lies. Dan said he has send this to their complaints department. I am waiting to hear back from their complaints department now. I would avoid this insurance company at all costs. I never said I could prove NCB because I know I can't. Jane and Emma should not have jobs working with people at all. Their aggression was intense. I intend to contact the financial ombudsman again should this company not do the right thing. But I will never insure with them again. They are downright fraudulent. They promise they can insure you and then ask for proof that you never said you had. I was up front with them and stated several times that I have been driving for over 30 years in the USA and have never had an at fault accident but have never had car insurance in the UK and consequently cannot show NCB either in the UK or the USA. I have never had such a bad experience with a company before. Pay extra and go with a reputable company.

Overall, a terrible experience. I insured my son's car with Adrian Flux and Marker Study are the underwriters. They have the worst customer service I have ever known, much worse than HMRC and you will literally be expected to sit on the phone for 45 mins plus. They say they are the insurance company for young drivers, but they haven't got a clue about young drivers; they will continually send bullish letters, charge you double if your mileage increases and expect you to pay up front. In my 25 years of experience dealing with car insurers these are absolutely the worst company I have experienced, and my advice is to avoid at all costs.

They may seem cheap at first but then arrangement fees (?), Extortionate cancellation fees, admin charges etc bring it to way over what you can get elsewhere. And they're not clear about it either on the phone. Got absolutely ripped off. Go elsewhere.

Adrian Flux swindled my disabled mother claiming they sent inquiries by post but she received no correspondence. The insurer further claimed that they could not text or email her when they had for other. They claimed she lied about employment but she was in fact still awaiting confirmation and a stat date. Adrian Flux proceeded to cancel her insurance and required a payment of £2,500 which she could not afford in order to be reinsured. Adrian Flux are a heartless bunch of charlatans that should be avoided at all costs.
