“Efficient company, deliver when they say so, asked questions and got detailed Ai answers, product was satisfying to fit. Took my time to follow instructions exactly. Just got to install skirting and boxing in to finish !”
“I ordered and fitted the Ovation Herringbone LVT click in Golden Oak for my downstairs hallway. Delivery was quick and all packs arrived strapped to a pallet with no damage.
Fitting the flooring itself started slow. I’ve fitted many different types of flooring for myself but this LVT click was a first for me. Once I figured a normal hammer was not the correct tool and ordered a rubber hammer, knocking block and pull bar, the job started moving well.
The Mrs did not want scotia beading running around the room and with removing the heritage skirting boards being a no-no, we undercut around the whole room. This was the right thing to do for a great finish but I think it made the job a whole lot harder as I was unable to add spacers to stop the floor moving.my trick here was to tape off-cuts to the floor butted up to the skirting with double sided carpet tape.
I also found that gluing together the pieces of my starting triangles helped prevent separation of these when starting off as knocking against them needs considerable force.
The planks are a very tight fit and to engage the tongue into the groove needs some very strong knocks. As mentioned earlier, keeping the skirting in situ and sliding the LVT under also meant certain side pieces were impossible to knock in as there was nowhere to place the pull bar. Here, the carped tape came in handy again by taping an off cut to board and knocking against that.
Cutting the boards is easy - measure, mark and a firm scribe with a Stanley knife enabled me to snap the board cleanly along the cut on the edge of a table. A jigsaw worked well for rounded cuts.
Final pieces being about 4 small triangular bits were modified by removing the tongue and trimming above the groove of the small piece to be fitted so it could drop in and be glued into place.
This flooring looks great and well worth the effort to lay. Another tip is to check every single groove as you are going as any debris will prevent proper alignment.
Would I buy again? Yes, 100% - I need to do my kitchen now to finish the look.”
