“The company who I got a quote from (Belgrave auto spares), took payment over the phone but never actually took the money out of my account....then lied on 3 occasions and told me the part had been sent, when I called them a 4th time they told me they would be sending it tomorrow, meaning it was never sent on all of the previous occasions I called. I have now been without a car for 6 weeks due to having to source the part elsewhere. I would never use this service again.”

“ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. Ordered a part and was assured it would be dropped off at repair shop within 48 hours ( it was local ) 9 days later it still had not arrived. Upon contacting them they said it was with the courier and then they disputed when I ordered it even though it was on my credit card statement and after very little dispute they credited my card without checking with the courier. I have had to reorder from elsewhere but I will now be without my car during Christmas. What a rubbish company AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !!!”

“This score is not based on the this specific service but the supplier that has been engaged as a distributor. Firstly, they sent out the wrong part, since then I have constantly had to phone them to see if they are able to supply the correct part. On two separate occasions I have been advised that the correct part will be sent out. As I have not yet received the correct part I phoned back today (14/12), having been told that I would receive The part by the end of last week, only to be advised that they are are trying to source the part. I have also been advised that I would receive return calls, which never materialised. Very disappointed with this poor level of service”

“Initially the site was good and I had 2 of its recommended suppliers contact me about my engine request. I contacted and paid the supplier but the engine never arrived. When I contacted 1st Choice after being unable to contact the supplier I was only then informed that, they also had been unable to contact this supplier for several weeks and had removed them from their supplier list! I am now having to try to recoup my money through my bank with 1st choice offering very little with regards to help or assistance.”

We blocked the breaker after being made aware of the issue, so they have been fully excluded from our network.
As we had to advise you, the only and best advice anyone can give in this unfortunate and thankfully rare situation, is to dispute the charge with your bank/card and report them to the police. We provided all the information and links to various agencies that we could.

“Don't waste your time !
Twice we ordered a part, twice we paid for part, twice it's been a waste of time, first Company sent incorrect part, then they said they were sending correct one out, then they didn't have it, eventually got a refund..... 2nd Company contacted us, said they had it, we paid for the part, then suddenly the part had seized up so have to make a refund.... still waiting !! total waste of time !”

“I contacted VW & Audi Spares Specialist Dismantlers Oldham to discuss returning unused goods for a full refund and found them to be misleading, and unpleasant in manner. They tried to wriggle and not accept consumer rights re 14 days refund. They advised that I post back parcel and they would charge 25%.”

We are based in the UK and generally cater for the UK market - although many breakers do try and help with overseas requests. Perhaps the enquiry being from ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA did not attract the level of replies an engine enquiry usually receives.
The nature of recycled spares is that they are not always available.
If after checking your emails or texts, you do not receive many quotes first time round, it's likely your parts were not available on that day.
With over 150 Breakers nationwide however, between them they are processing literally hundreds of additional vehicles every day.
So if you have not found the parts you need, you can log back into the site and re-send your request automatically.

“Dealer claims he did not see my photo of the part or detailed description. As a result I got incorrect trim of part by mail (overseas!). No way to contact 1st choice spares as the contact form on the website does not submit messages and there are no alternative contact details for online / email communication. Dealer also a hassle to communicate with and only after several emails agreed to a refund. But I'm losing 50 GBP on postage. Will not be using the service again.”
