“My order arrived today, and I was SO excited to receive it. Imagine my disappointment when I picked up the burgers to cook them for supper this evening and spotted that they contain wheat 🌾. As a diagnosed Coeliac, it means that I am unable to even try them, and as they are the mangalitsa pork, they weren’t cheap. They had also largely defrosted on their journey to me, so I now have to use them all very quickly. Ho hum 🤔 at least I still have the bacon to look forward to. Maybe think about making it more obvious on your site that your burgers don’t just contain meat?”

Hi Ally, Thanks for leaving your review. We've been looking at the situation with reference to product descriptions on the website and how we can best act to remedy the issue you have highlighted. Although we do only currently make one product which is gluten free, and advertise it as such, we do agree it will make life easier for everyone if we list the Allergens on all of the processed products that are made here at The Butchery, and that is our intention going forward. We hope this will address any issues that you and fellow Coeliacs encounter when you shop online with us.

“Nice website, good selection of (interesting) items, items delivered as requested and received in good order. Can't speak to the meat itself as we placed the items in freezer for future use. So far so good!”

“We are new customers, but already extremely impressed with the customer service we have received from this company. Although the company was closed for Christmas our order was still despatched as we were desperate to start our puppy’s diet regime. Well packaged, prompt delivery and as a bonus our puppy loves the kangaroo meat. Many thanks”

We're just getting the hang of our new Review system - so please forgive our late response to your 1 star review. Sadly, you did try to place an order with us the day before our last dispatch day this Christmas. As this was a record year for us on the website, our Butchery team were flat out and stocks were beginning to get very low. We did explain this to anyone who placed an order at this time Andrea, but we were disappointed to receive a one star review for a very valid reason. We would love the opportunity to serve you with some of our products at another time.

“Meat is of exceptional quality. The web site is easy to use and comprehensive. Good choice of cuts/joints and varieties of meat. Meat is vacuum packed - no leakages. Last but definitely not least, the staff are efficient and friendly.”

“The service is excellent, the food turns up when you are told it will. The Mangalitsa black pudding is the best I have ever tasted bar none. The bacon is excellent too. I think I would have preferred smoked if that option was available as that is my personal preference. Will definitely use again”

“Prompt and inexpensive delivery charge. Excellent quality meat- just made my osso bucco with the 2 large pieces, plenty of bone marrow and meat can now be cut with a spoon. Excellent for anyone like me who loves making Italian meals.”
