I had to drill a 1 1/2 inch dia hole in my 1 inch thick granite kitchen counter-top for my instahot hot-water dispenser. The hole-saw worked well until the last little bit; the cutting edge of the bit broke about 1 inch around the rim but I continued and was able to drill through.
