I love wearing makeup and everything about it, but not so good at application, specially on someone other than myself. When I reached to a decision to embrace my passion for makeup artistry, I needed the best school that can transform my passion into a professional talent. After months of researching for the best makeup school in Dubai, I decided to study with AOFM, I have to say I was proud of my decision! I attended the "The Complete Artistic Pro Specialist in Hair Styling and Makeup Artistry", an intense six-week program, in March 2021. The course covered almost everything. I was introduced to the evolution of makeup artistry and hair styling and progressed into the contemporary advanced techniques and methods. The course is conducted by reputed teachers who are internationally recognized and are actively working professional makeup artists in Dubai. (our teachers: Hair course teachers: Betty: IG- bettybeehair and Danihairstylist, for makeup: Emily, IG- Vanityvenom, Shona: IG- Shonakennedymakeup, Jojo: IG- jojo_dantespadua, JhaJha: IG- jhajhamakeupartist, Valentino from Inglot etc). Individual attention was given for each student’s growth in the classroom, with continuous feedback and support to ensure expected level of proficiency in each stage. We have learned in depth among other things about the industry, variety of application techniques, and on how to build one’s kit. Every course is followed by practice, and whatever is learned in theory will be applied in the classroom with high quality skin care products, such as, Dermalogica, and makeup products including but not limited to, charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Dior, Makeup Forever, Huda beauty, Nars, Inglot, Kryolan, Mehron etc. However, students are required to carry their own weight to research, complete assignments on time and to put the time and work-in to successfully complete the course. At the end of the course, I acquired the skills, discipline, and the etiquette on how to carry myself as a professional freelance makeup artist. One of the distinctive advantages to go to AOFM is that graduates are always welcome for free masterclasses with distinguished brands and makeup artists and refresher courses if they would like to refresh their knowledge and practice. And, after completion of the course, depending on availability, students are given the opportunity to assist the AOFM pro makeup artist in fashion shows. Since i graduated, I was lucky enough to be part of the AOFM backstage pro team for different events in Dubai. I find the experience at the fashion show exciting and educationally fascinating.
