The ordering process of purchasing a fire surround was very good. Unfortunately, the 3-5 days delivery time stretched into over 3 weeks which meant having to ring Direct Fireplaces more than once to ask about progress. It would have been more helpful if the company had contacted me directly and let me know of delays, etc, rather than me as the customer, having to chase. No complaints about Direct Fireplace staff, as both people I spoke to on the phone were very apologetic and helpful, and very friendly.

Love the fireplace package I purchased from Direct Fireplaces. Not been installed yet, but I know it will look beautiful when in place. The perfect fireplace for our house renovation. The price and choice of fireplaces was really good. Customer service really helpful when needed. I will certainly use Direct Fireplaces for our next purchase.

Well laid out showroom. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Delivery took over 4 weeks, but I'm not blaming them for that. Fire looks great, if a bit noisier than we'd envisaged Overall a positive exerience so far - thanks

sirs.i am very pleased with the fire and the service that i have rceived.just the one problem one of the ceramics is cracked over its lenght and i fear it might break compleatly.i have e-mailed clair dickinson and she is dealing.the fire is great and warms the room quite fast.

The Ordering process was fine, as was the initial message to say that the product would be delivered in the next 2 to 5 working days. When I chased up, I was told that there was a problem, as the Order was in 2 parts, the 2nd part had just arrived and delivery would now be 7 days from first notified, i.e. 6th December. As I had my builder lined up for Monday 9th, this was now tight on timing. As so, I rang Direct Fireplaces throughout the week to check progress. I was repeatedly told that it was coming on 6th. However, having chased again on the 6th, I was told it wasn't coming - not their fault apparently, it was the fault of the Delivery firm. I therefore asked for assurances that it would come Monday 9th morning and I was told they would ensure that would happen. When I rang on 9th, I was eventually told it would be there in the afternoon, between 1pm and 5pm. It finally landed at 1.30pm with my builder sat waiting. I was told that if I wanted to complain, then I should ring their Customer Services team. In summary, aftersales and delivery was absolutely shocking.

While the vast majority of deliveries through our shipping partners are received within the expected time frame, shipping delays can and do happen on occasion and these are often outside of our Dispatch team's control. So far I have paid for the fireplace about a month ago but no delivery date posted so far. I think the setting of expected delivery date and information when it’s due is needed. Installers have been in touch which is good but they don’t have dates either and they need to know when the unit will be delivered of course.. I think they should not invoice for the whole amount until item is delivered like John Lewis.

As you will be aware, the supplier had let us know that they had unexpectedly fallen out of stock of a necessary component hence the delay. Although the fire is brilliant, the delivery was a total mess up. We arranged a day for delivery. But it came a day early and no one was in. We then had to arrange for someone to be in to receive the fire , the next day. So not happy with it.
