Overall, the grammar course was excellent. It reviewed important grammar points that even experienced English teachers forget as they are so elementary to native speakers. This part of the course was helpful, but many of the pedagogical courses were very rudimentary. If you already have a background in teaching, much of this course feels repetitive. It might be nice to offer different courses based on how much prior knowledge each person has about teaching. As for my specific tutor, I did not have a good experience. On the first assignment, I got feedback that was rather condescending, and I had a few questions about their response as what they commented on didn't seem to match what the question was asking. I decided to email my tutor asking a few questions, and they responded with a rather disrespectful email saying I clearly didn't read their answer carefully and still didn't answer my question. I reiterated my question again in a follow up email, but then was again treated rather rudely by my tutor. After that point, I decided not to reach out to them for the rest of the course and informed them I no longer would be communicating with them via email. I don't know if their response was intentionally disrespectful, but the tone and word choice was belittling and condescending. When I mentioned that I felt this way to them in the second email, they entirely brushed off what I said. Overall, I found the course fine, but it would have been a lot more informative if I could have felt comfortable reaching out to my tutor for feedback and help. The tutor's actions really put me off of this program.
